“Damn, that sucks,” Ash said, pity obvious in his voice.
I sighed. “I still can’t believe I got paired with one of the biggest idiots I know,” I groaned, slouching in my seat.
Michael patted my back. “It’s ok really. He’s actually only mean to people when he’s around Luke. When Luke’s not around, he can be pretty nice,” he said, reassuring me.
Him being nice to me would be one of the biggest miracles known to mankind.
“I seriously don’t wanna go to his house after school today,” I said, groaning.
“Hey don’t worry, his house is always loaded with food. At least you’ll get something out of this,” Michael joked, causing me to chuckle.
“I guess,” I replied, shrugging.
The bell went, indicating the end of lunch. The next class went by quickly, and before I knew it I was climbing into Calum’s car on the way to his house.
“Try and not break or stain anything,” he said, annoyed. “Actually, just don’t breathe or move at all the whole car ride.”
I rolled my eyes, rolling the window down to purposely annoy him.
“I SAID DON’T TOUCH ANYTHING,” he screamed, banging his hand on the steering wheel.
“woah chill I just rolled the window down,” I said, slumping back in the seat. He glared at me, starting the car.
The car ride to his house was silent and awkward, none of us making a sound.
We eventually got to his house, me slamming the car door just to piss him off.
“Hey try and not break my car while you’re at it,” he shouted, rolling his eyes.
We were greeted by a kind looking woman, probably his mum.
“Did you bring home your new girlfriend,” she asked, raising his eyebrows at Calum.
I gagged at the thought of being his girlfriend, while Calum nearly fell over.
“No no no, she’s just a person I have to do an assignment with. If we didn’t have to do this damn task, I wouldn’t even be near her,” he said, glaring at me. I glared back, annoyed.
“oh. Well that’s a shame. She seems like a really nice girl,” the woman said, grinning. Calum started mumbling something which I couldn’t make out. I ignored him, smiling back at the woman.
“Hi, I’m Natasha, pleasure to meet you Mrs. Hood,” I said, shaking her hand.
“No no please, call me Joy,” she said, smiling back at me.
Calum groaned, and made his way upstairs. I followed him, shooting Joy one last smile.
Calum flopped down on his bed, groaning.
“Why did you have to make my mum like you? Now she’s gonna do anything she can to make us start dating,” he said, obviously annoyed.
I ignored him, observing his room. His room was also covered in posters just like Ashtons. Posters of who I don’t know, but I’m pretty sure they were bands.
“Mind not invading my privacy, having to invite you to my house was bad enough,” Calum mumbled, head buried in his pillow.
i groaned. “can we please just start this task so we can get this over and done with,” I said, annoyed.
“You know what? Why don’t you just go home and I’ll do all the work. I don’t care if I have to do it myself if it means I don’t have to be around you. And besides, you suck at this subject,” he said, glaring at me.
I stared at him. “Why do you hate me so much,” I quietly asked. “I’ve never done anything to you.”
He scoffed. “yeah, but you hurt Luke and Abby. Don’t expect me to be nice to the people who hurt my friends.”
“do you even know what happened? Did they bother telling you the full story? Or did they just tell you that I hurt them, not explaining anything else,” I asked, looking up at him.
He stared at me. “Well it was obviously pretty bad, since Luke and Abby both skipped school for a full two weeks to recover from whatever you did to them,” he said glaring at me.
I scoffed. “yes it is isn’t it? I mean, I OBVIOUSLY bullied Abby. OBVIOUSLY they both skipped school for the two weeks to ‘recover’ from it. I bet they just spent the two weeks together, having fun. They lied to you didn’t they? They told you they were recovering from something, when really they were just having fun together. Would it really take two weeks to recover over something that never happened?” I asked staring at him, waiting for an answer. “And do I really seem like the type of person to beat someone up?”
“how DARE you come up with such lies? You’re even worse than I thought you were! Get out, get out of my house RIGHT NOW. Don’t you DARE insult my friends like that ever again,” he screamed, throwing my bag at my head, causing me to stumble back, landing on my arm. My arm bent at an odd angle, which hurt quite a lot. I screamed, the pain becoming worse and worse. “Michael may be stupid enough to believe you, but I’m not. GET OUT.” I continued to lie there, in pain.
“DID YOU NOT HEAR ME? I SAID GET THE FUCK OUT OF MY HOUSE,” calum screamed, shoving me out his bedroom door, slamming the door shut in my face.
My whole body started shaking, and I wasn’t able to think properly. Eventually I was able to move again. I picked my bag up and ran out of the house, not looking back.
its 40 degrees today and i think i might die. I'd happily move to Antarctica right now.
