I woke up, feeling exhausted. I looked around to see if I could see a clock somewhere. But instead of finding a clock, I found a passed out Ash and Mike lying on either side of me. I stared at them, confused. Suddenly, I remembered. I remembered coming to Mike’s place for a sleepover, the argument with Luke, me sobbing my eyes out.
I shot up, causing Ash and Mike to wake up.
“FUCK what time is it are we gonna be late for school?” I asked, panicked.
“Why are you so eager to get to school, I thought you hated it,” Mike said groggily, rubbing his eyes.
“Yeah well just cos I hate it doesn’t mean I’ve gotta skip it,” I said, rushing to the bathroom to get ready.
Eventually, we all made it to school looking somewhat presentable. The bell went 15 minutes ago, not that any of us cared anyway.
We made our way to class, not bothering to make conversation. We had math first, causing us to walk even slower.
I guess we took too long, because our teacher was beyond pissed when we arrived 25 minutes late.
“You guys arrive to my class when half the period is over?” she exclaimed, probably thinking of 30 different punishments she could give us.
We just shrugged, knowing that no matter how we responded, she would be able to come up with a lecture.
She sighed. “Since you guys get along so well, from now one you won’t be allowed to sit next to each other in my class anymore. Michael you go sit by yourself in the back corner, and Ashton you can sit here right in front of me. Natasha you go sit next to Calum over there.” I stared at her, not knowing if I heard her right.
“I’m sorry Miss, did I hear you right? Am I supposed to sit next to Calum?” I asked, eyes wide.
“I believe that’s what I just said,” she responded, shrugging slightly.
I continued to stare at her, silently begging her to change her mind. But obviously, she got even more annoyed at me.
“Hurry up and sit in your designated seat, or else I’ll call your parents up.” I scoffed at that comment. Was that supposed to be a threat? I guess it was. But I still went to my seat, dumping my bag onto the table.
I rolled my eyes at Calum, causing him to kick me under the table. I kicked him back even harder, making him wince. I smirked, satisfied with what I had done.
I zoned out, bored of this lesson.
“Natasha with calum,” the teacher said, making me jump.
“Excuse me, me and Calum? For what?” I asked, surprised.
“weren’t you listening you idiot, we’re partners for this stupid activity,” Calum replied, glaring at me.
I stared at him. Partners?
“What activity?” I asked slowly.
“Were you listening at all? We have to complete this lame assignment thing together,” he said angrily. “And what’s worse, we’ve gotta do it in our own time,” he grumbled, slumping down in his seat.
I groaned, burying my head in my arms. Well this is going to be fun.
