Lunch was filled with laughter and conversation between Mike, Ash and I. it was honestly much more fun being here compared to being alone in the music room.
Eventually, lunch ended. We made our way back to class, laughing at a story Ash was telling.
“wait, so your saying you use to show off you could pee in your potty to your mums friends?” Mike said, trying to stop laughing.
“shut up I was 3 ok?” Ash said, grinning.
“I still don’t understand why I hated you so much Tash, you’re an amazing person to be around,” Mike suddenly said, obviously feeling guilty.
I laughed. “it’s ok. As long as you want to be my friend now, its fine.”
“By the way, I’ve been meaning to ask you, you seem to enjoy music lessons a lot. Do you like, love music or something?” Mike asked curiously.
“Ah, yeah. I play the guitar I guess. Not very good at it thought,” I said, shrugging.
“Are you kidding me?! You’re amazing,” Ash exclaimed, making me blush.
“oh my god seriously?! Well I guess that’s why I took an instant liking to you, since I also play guitar,” he said grinning. But I guess he realised what he just said, since his smile fell off his face. “N-no. I guess I didn’t take an instant liking to you, but I wanted to be your friend, so I guess that counts?” he asked, embarrassed that he just said that.
I nervously laughed, trying to not be too awkward. “Y-yeah, I guess,” I stuttered.
An awkward silence fell on us, until eventually Ash broke it.
“should we all go to the music room after school? We could try playing a song together if you want? Since I can play the drums,” Ash suggested, looking hopefully between me and Mike.
“Sure, that sounds great,” I exclaimed. I’d never tried playing a song along with someone else, so this will be fun.
Luke and Calum were shooting Michael death glares from across the room, but strangely, he didn’t really seem to care.
“erhm, Mike? Do you realise that Luke and Calum are probably thinking of 70 different ways they can kill you right now?” Ash questioned, obviously also just spotting them.
Mike shrugged. “I don’t care really. I never liked them, they’re so full of themselves, and seem to enjoy tormenting people they dislike, and playing around with girls who are somehow willing to be taken advantage of,” he said, anger evident in his voice.
“Oh,” Ash said awkwardly. I looked down at my lap, not knowing what to say.
“hey, um, if you don’t mind, could you please clear some rumours up for me? I mean, how did the whole school start thinking you killed your mother?” Mike asked cautiously, making sure I wasn’t going to burst into tears.
I looked back up at him, eyes wide. He looked uncomfortable, as if he was afraid he made me upset.
I sighed. “I’ll tell you later,” I said, indicating at all the people in our class.
He nodded, knowing what I meant.
Finally, school ended. Ash, Mike and I sighed with relief, starting to make our way to the music room. Just as we were about to rush off, we heard a voice behind us.
“Hey Mike, why the hell are you hanging with them?” an angry voice shouted. We slowly turned around, seeing an angry Luke. I froze, not knowing what to say or do.
Mike just shrugged. “Well, they are part of our group now aren’t they? Why can’t I hang with them?” he asked, eyebrows raised.
Luke obviously didn’t know what to say about that, so all he could do was glare at us some more.
Mike just rolled his eyes and dragged me and Ash to the music room.
“So what are you waiting for? Let’s go and have some fun!” Michael exclaimed grinning, making both Ash and I grin back at him as we ran towards the music room.
