When the lesson finally ended, we packed up quickly and started making our way to the music rooms. As we were walking down the hall, Luke and 2 of his friends, Calum and Michael I think their names are, stopped us. They dragged Ash with them into a classroom, leaving me behind. I started following them, but Calum glared at me, which made me shrink back. I decided to just make my way to the music room to see Mrs. Jones.
Luke and Michael I think his name is, dragged me into some empty classroom with Calum following behind us. I glared at them.
“what the hell are you doing,” I asked angrily, crossing my arms
Luke smirked. “well, if you remember back to last night, I told you I needed to talk to you right? You said we could talk today, so here we are,” he said, shrugging.
“fine,” I said, leaning back against the wall. “So what did you need to talk to me about?”
I sighed, finally finishing moving everything from one classroom to another.
“Thankyou so much for helping me Natasha. I really wouldn’t have been able to do this without you,” Mrs. Jones grinned.
“it’s fine, I’ll help whenever you need me too,” I replied, grinning back.
I started to wonder why Ash was taking so long, so I decided to just go back to the classroom Ash got dragged in to see if he was alright.
“you want me to WHAT?” I shouted.
Luke shrugged. “you heard me. We want you to join our group. You seem pretty sporty, and lots of girls are already swooning over you. Thought I don’t see why you look so mad, I mean, getting asked to join our group only goes out to 1, or maybe even 2 guys each year. Maybe none at all.”
“is that the only reason why you want me to join your little group?” I asked, amused.
“well like, lots of people like you, and because of that, you need to be in our group. So there’s no one else other than us for them to listen to really.” Calum said, shrugging. “its all logic really.”
I was about to politely decline, but then I remembered what Natasha said.
“I miss Luke.” she said quietly. “I’d do anything I could to be friends with him again. But there’s no point in my trying really, he can’t even stand being near me. He’s part of the popular group now, and they obviously don’t want me around them.”
I hesitated. I really didn’t want to hang around with these people, but Natasha really wants to be friends with Luke again. This is probably the only chance she’ll ever get to become friends with him again.
I sighed. “Fine. I’ll join. On one condition though.” I said, raising my eyebrows.
“if I join this group, so does Natasha.”
Their eyes widened, shocked. They looked like they were going to straightaway decline, so I quickly spoke.
“oh well, if you’re going to not let her join too, then I guess I cant join your group at all,” I said disappointed, shrugging.
I started to leave the room when Luke called me back.
“Wait,” he called. He looked hesitantly between Michael and Calum. “fine. We’ll let that freak join too. But don’t expect us to suddenly be friendly with her or anything,” he growled. He stormed off, Michael and Calum following him.
I chuckled. Michael and Calum didn’t even get a say in anything that happens. They just followed Luke, their little leader. I left the room, making my way to the music room to find Natasha, but I bumped into Natasha outside, surprised.
“hey what are you doing here?” I questioned her.
She shrugged. “I got worried so I came to see if you were ok,” she said, blushing.
I grinned. I took her arm and led her back into the classroom. She looked at me confused.
Suddenly I was feeling nervous about this whole thing. What if she didn’t want to join the group? What if she thought I was stupid for saying yes? Would she hate me for this?
“Ash? Ash, are you ok,” Natasha asked, snapping me out of my thoughts.
“huh? Oh. Uhm, yeah. I just needa ask you something,” I said nervously.
I looked at her nervously, and took a deep breath.
“Well, uhm, were hanging with Luke and his group today at lunch?” I told her, though I said it more like a question.
She stared at me. surprised? Horrified? Happy? I don’t know.
I fiddled with the end of my shirt nervously.
“how?” she finally whispered.
“how?” I whispered. I was surprised. Why would he even want to, I thought he hated that group.
“oh uhm. They dragged me into this classroom to ask me if I wanted to join their group. Because people like me. that’s basically the only reason they want me to join,” he said, shrugging.
“but, but why did you agree? I thought you hated them?” I asked, surprised. Suddenly, I felt scared. Is ashton going to leave me now? Is he just going to ditch me now?
“are you going to ditch me now?” I whispered, looking down.
“What? No way! The only reason I agreed to join their little group was because I remembered you wanted to try and be friends with Luke again, and I just thought this would be a great opportunity for you to try and be friends with him again. I made them let you join along with me,” he said, searching my face for a reaction.
We continued to stare at eachother for a couple of minutes, until I broke out into a massive grin and hugged him.
“thankyou so much Ash, you’re the bestest friend anyone can have,” I said happily.
He sighed with relief. “I’m so glad you’re not mad. I thought you’d hate me for this.”
I grinned. “it’d be impossible to hate you Ash,” I said, poking his cheek.
Suddenly I felt nervous. What if luke still hates me? what if he doesn’t want to have anything to do with me? what if hes just going to ignore me.
Ashton mustve seen how nervous I was, because he hugged me harder.
“it’ll be ok. If Luke continues to be a complete bitch to you then we’ll just leave that group, no biggie,” he said, smiling down at me.
Suddenly the bell rang, meaning we had to make our way to class. We sighed, walking to class holding hands.
