7. Picking Sides
I got off the bus and walked through the school. Everyone stopped talking and grabbing books out of their lockers and looked straight at me. "Harold! So what's your secret?" My nerdy friend, Eric, asked me. "What are you talking about? What secret?" I asked him, I was confused. Then it suddenly came to my mind- Ava. I pushed through the hallway and went to my locker and quickly went to homeroom. "What did you say and who did you tell?" I said as I slammed my hands on her desk.
"Harold, what are you talking about?" She asked so innocently. "Dont be like that. You told somebody because the whole school knows now." I said and she still looked at me. "Ava! Who did you tell?" I asked again. "I havent told anyone." Ava said really quietly. "How can I trust & believe you?" I asked her. "Harold, nice job on the thing!" Jayden, a football player, said as he walked by. "WHAT THING? WHAT IS EVERYONE TALKING ABOUT!" I yelled and the room turned silent, including the hallway.
"Weren't you the one who is going out with Alexis Grey?" Karlee asked. I looked at Ava and she was almost in tears. "No. I'm not going out with Alexis. I'm going out with-" Ava got up and ran out of the room, crying. "AVA!" I yelled after her but it was too late. "You're going out with Ava?" Jessica asked. I looked out the door and she kept running. "I'm not so sure anymore." I said and the bell rang.
I sat down in my chair. I felt so bad and depressed, I didnt answer any questions in math. I had hurt Ava and now she probably hates me. I embarrassed her in front of the class and some of the school. But she is pep squad, and everyone probably knows about both things by now. I'm such a idiot, I should just pick a side already. So now it is up to one thing: Is it going to be Harry Styles, a young boy in One Direction or Harold Styles, a young nerd who keeps his eyes in books and not on girls.
