Tori was surprised by the number of cars in the garage, hardly anyone was there before time on sundays. Almost every parking spot was filled. Tori was once again grateful that she had the talent of backing out with ease. “where to?” she asked Calum as they pulled out of the UCLA garage.
“I’m not sure, you’ve been here and known her longer than I have” He said looking at her, even though she was looking at the road. “Where would you go to be alone?”
“I would go to the library, but not Kelly, I’m pretty sure she would go to the park or something.” Tori kept her eyes on the road.
Calum reached over and turned on the radio, hoping something good was on. As Ryan Seacrest was finishing up what he had to say he heard the opening chords to She Looks So Perfect. Tori looked at him for the first time since getting in the car, quickly looked back at the radio and turned up the music. It was a nice day out so she decided to roll down the windows so everyone could hear her music too. Normally she would sing along but because one of the guys who actually sings the song was sitting in the passenger seat of her car and she didn’t want to embarrass herself, so she just drummed along on her steering wheel. As the song reached the second chorus, Calum reached to turn the music down.
“Do you always drum like that?” Calum asked motioning towards her hands still tapping away on the steering wheel, even if the music was almost inaudible.
“Yeah, I guess so. But no one has ever pointed it out before.” Tori glanced over at Calum as she responded.
Tori could feel Calum still staring at her. “Why do you keep looking at me?” she asked not looking away from the road. Calum didn’t answer. He reached over, turned up the radio, to hear ‘Jasey Rae’ by ATL playing and he looked out the window. Calum would never admit to looking at Tori especially since she’s dating Ashton.
“Calum. Calum, did I do something? You just started ignoring me. Did I hurt your feelings?”
“What? sorry I didn’t mean to ignore you. I was just thinking...”
“whatcha thinkin bout?” Tori asked him innocently.
“The band.” He replied quietly after a moment or so.
Tori could feel the tension... she didn’t like it, but she could feel it. She just turned back to the road, as she remembered how to get back to the park.
