End Up Here

You walked in. Everyone was asking for your name. You just smiled, and told them trouble.

2. Trouble

I was kinda scared while writing this. My Louis poster kept falling and scaring me every time. Okay! Onto the chapter. Hope you enjoy.

I wake up the next morning feeling tired. I went to sleep at about 1 in the morning and my alarm went off at 6. Not enough sleep for me.

I take a quick, 10 minute shower. I am happy that my blow dryer is working because it wasn't the other day. I quickly make the perfect quiff. My hair is always on point.

I throw on my regular skinny jeans and black vans. I stand in my bedroom shirtless deciding what shirt I would like to put on. I choose a white one that I borrowed from Calum that has holes and a picture if Kurt Cobain on it.

I always look so damn sexy, but nobody really seems to ever notice. And I feel differently depending on the day. I have days that I feel like this and days that I feel like shit.

My mum already left for work as well as my dad. She left out the bread for me to make toast with Vegemite. That's one of my favorites.

I collect my books in my backpack and hear Ash honk his horn like usual.

"Hey, mate," Ashton says as I take my seat next to him. We always trade who gets to sit in front and today, it's my turn.

"The American will be there today," Calum smirks at all of us. He really wants to date this girl, and he hasn't even met her. Classic Calum. He acts like this with Katy Perry, too.

"Yup," I smile to myself.

"You don't even know what she looks like,"Michael says to Calum.

"So? She's American. Pretty much all American girls are hot. What if she drives a minivan? That would be kinda cool."

I cut into the conversation. "I have always liked the way Americans say hello. I love their accent."

All of the lads agree with me and we arrive to school. The 3 of us get out and walk in. We are halfway down the hall and we hear a ton of 'hi's and 'hey's and people greeting someone. People clear out of the way and a tall, blonde walks in. She's wearing dark sunglasses with a My Chemical Romance t-shirt that has the sleeves rolled up. She has got black combat boots on. She is so hot. I'm guessing this is the American.

"What's your name?" I overhear somebody ask her.

She stops and turns towards them. The mystery girl lowers the sunglasses on her nose and just says, "Trouble."

She is walking towards us, and I have to say I'm slightly scared of her. She is the definition of badass.

Calum and I quickly exchange a few smirks while going to our lockers. The girl walks in between us to the empty locker. I watch her turn the dial on the padlock to complete her combination. I pull out my own books while trying not to stare at her. Calum may have claimed her, but I know that he's too scares to ever say anything to her.

I'm about to walk off to math when she turns to face me right after removing her sunglasses to reveal beautiful ocean blue eyes and she closes her locker.

"Kurt Cobain, right? I like your shirt," she points to it and walks away before I have the chance to respond. She left me speechless. Her voice was so melodic and smooth.

"Holy fuck! She just talked to you," Calum pats the back of my shoulder bone. I'm still speechless. "By the way, don't let it get to your head. That's my shirt, Luke." Calum smirks at me and pulls me down the hallway.

We walk into the classroom and I see her in there. She's sitting alone in the corner. I almost think of approaching her, but I see some of the 'popular people' approach her first. Pretty people are always taken under their wing.

The bell rings and the teacher goes to the front.

"Good morning. We began yesterday, but I would like to welcome a very special student today. She is from all the way over in the US. Class, please welcome-" our teacher is cut off.

The girl stands up from her spot and starts talking. "Hi. Yes, I'm from the states, and thank you all for being so welcoming. I'm hoping for a great year," she winks at me before sitting down. I feel my breathing hitch and apparently, Calum does, too.

"Deep breaths, man. See, I told you she would be hot. God damn!"

"Yeah, she is," I mumble.

I wish I could just find out her name. She is such a mystery with her badass boots and those eyes that make me melt like a 13-year-old girl. Don't even get me started on her hair. It's so long and beautiful and the best part is that it's natural. She never said that, but you don't get a color like that from a bottle. I need to figure her out.

The bell rings for our next class. I have to stop by my locker to get my English book. I guess "Trouble" does, too because I see her putting in her combination numbers when I walk up.

I really want to say something to her.

"Um... uh..." I mutter, but she's gone when I finally get the courage to say something. She didn't even glance at me. Am I that ugly, or is she just not interested to even know my name.

Maybe it's part of the American culture? I don't even know. She's just interesting.

I walk to my next class and she's in there with me again. I see her sitting by the same people. She's already too popular for me or any of my friends.

"Good day, everyone. How are you?" the teacher asks. Everyone mumbles their answer except "Trouble."

"Do you really want to know how we're doing?" she asks the teacher, Mrs. Gold.

"Excuse me," Mrs. Gold raises her hand to her chest and looks surprised at the girl.

"Well, I feel like if you really wanted to know, you would make more of an effort to get something other than mumbles out of your class."

The teacher is stunned and speechless as well as the rest of the room.

"So to answer your question, I could be better. My parents uprooted my entire life from my home to come live at a beach in a place that's too hot to actually do anything," "Trouble" responds.

"What's your name, young lady?" Mrs. Gold asks.

"Hare. Elena Hare."

So that's her name. I finally learned her name! This mysterious girl in ally has something I can call her by.

"To the office, Ms. Hare," the teacher points at the door with a furious pout on her lips.

"With please," Elena nods and walks out of the room.

"Now, back to class."

How does Elena act like this? Doesn't she have any worry about her future and getting an education? Why am I even thinking about this? I hardly know anything about her and she is way out of my league. Snap out of it, Luke!

The end of the day quickly approached and the last bell rang. I walk to my locker and it already Friday! We always start school on a Thursday. Don't ask why. But thankfully, that means a night of hanging out with the boys. Michael is staying over and Calum was going to, but his mom wouldn't let him. He's a teenage boy whose mom still tells him he can't go over to a friends' for not cleaning his room.

Michael and I are meeting up with Ashton. We are gonna go see a small band at a little pub. The pub usually only let's people over 21 in, but not tonight.

Ash is picking us up in a few hours.

Elena walks up to her locker with a blue paper. I know what that means. She get a dreaded "blue paper" whenever you get a detention. Okay, Luke, go for it. Just talk to her.

"I see you got detention," I say awkwardly

"What?" she turns to me. "Oh, yeah. Apparently I can't talk back to teachers," he rolls her eyes and offers a small smile.

"Just don't talk back to Mr. Evans. He will give you a week's worth of detention for sharpening your pencil while he talks," I laugh and she starts to laugh back with me.

"You're funny. What's your name?" she asks getting out her three-quarter sleeved leather jacket. Although, she said it was really hot here so I'm not sure why she is putting on a jacket.

"I'm Luke. And you're Elena, right?"

"Yeah. I think everybody knows that now," she says. "Is that short for something? Like Lucas?"

"No."

"Lucifer?"

"No, it's just Luke."

"You got a last name, just Luke?"

"Hemmings."

"I like Hemmo. I think I'll call you Hemmo," she smiles brightly.

I smile at her and Michael comes running up behind me.

"Dude! We gotta get going. Ash said he'll pick us up here and he will be here any minute."

"Alright, just give me a second. I was talking to Elena."

"No, it's all good. I gotta go home and get this detention slip signed. See you later, Hemmo."

I smile at her nickname for me and wave. Michael drags me outside after I grabbed my things and closed my locker.

We go outside to wear Ashton is waiting in his car. Michael hops in the front seat and I scoot into the back.

"That's a terrible shirt," Michael laughs at Ashton. Ash is just wearing a purple T-shirt.

"I like your shirt," I tell him.

"Thanks, Lukey," Ash smiles in the rear view mirror at me.

We drive to my house. Ash has decided to spend the night with us. Calum is gonna feel so left out, but he should've cleaned his room. Haha.

"Mom! Dad! I'm home!" I shout when I walk into the house.

My dad comes around the corner. "Boys! How have you two been? Where is Calum?"

I laugh at my dad's mention of Calum. I think he almost has a little bro crush.

"We're good," Ash says and my dad pats him on the back.

"How about you, Mike?" he asks.

"All good," he gives my father a thumbs up. "Got myself a new hair color since the last time I you."

"And Calum?" my dad turns to me.

"He didn't clean his room." I can hear Michael and Ashton hysterically laughing behind me because of Calum's situation.

"Alright, we are gonna go to my room," I state.

"Behave, Luke. You, too, boys. Be good tonight."

I wave my hand as I turn my back and walk away.

The boys set their stuff on my bed and sit on the small couch I have against the wall.

"I would suggest we play FIFA while we wait to leave, but Ashton doesn't like to play that," Michael gives Ashton a little glare.

The guys keep talking about God knows what and I can't help, but think about Elena. She was so badass, but so sweet and charming. Not to mention how hot she is. She gave me a nickname. Does that mean anything? I'd like to think so, but Calum and I take our girl dibs very seriously.

"Penguins," Mikey says.

"What?" I snap out of my trance of thoughts.

"We were just trying to get your attention," Michael laughs.

I have a slight obsession with penguins and my friends know that. If anybody mentions penguins, they've got my attention.

"So what time do you guys want to leave. The gig starts at 7 and they have an opener at 6," Ashton tells us.

"What time is it now?" I ask.

"4."

"How about we leave at about 5:30?" I suggest.

They agree with me and I turn on my Blink-182 album. We always play music when we hang out and Blink-182 is my favorite.

We pass the time by talking about school and girls.

"So what were you talking to the American about?" Michael asks.

That instantly captures Ashton's attention. They both look at me expectantly.

"Not much. We were just introducing ourselves. She's really nice. I mean we are going to have lockers next to each other for an entire year."

"Mhm," Michael hums.

"Just please don't tell Calum. He called dibs on her and I just don't want him to freak out."

The guys agree. I really hope they wot tell Calum. I'm sure I will tell him eventually. Like when we are both married with kids.

I start to doze off. The guys will wake me up.

***

We arrive to the pub and walk in. I have to say I'm feeling pretty hot tonight. It's just one of those days that I feel hella fine. It kinda sucked that I had no time to get ready, though. The guys woke me up 10 minutes before we left.

We see a group of girls staring at us. They are all whispering to each other and giggling. I see a pretty girl with black hair. I recognize her as Mali-Koa, Calum's sister. She walks over to us.

"Hey guys! How are you?" she smiles just like Calum.

"Good," we all say.

"Calum told me that if I see you here, I should tell you that next weekend is a boys weekend and he wants to do something. He promises that his room will be clean," she giggles and we tell her okay.

"By the way, Ashton. My friend, Lucy over there, she thinks your cute. She wanted me to tell you that," she shakes head and walks back to her friends.

Ashton blushes and looks at the floor. He gives his infamous giggle and we go find seats towards the front.

"So what's this band called?" I ask Ashton.

"Beauty and Forest or something."

"It's Beauty and Jungle," Michael corrects.

"Have they released anything?" I wonder aloud.

"They have a homemade album they sell after shows and there is a rumor that there is a possible record deal they will be signing," Michael says.

Soon, the opening comes on and they are pretty good. I have no idea who they are, but they seem good. They go offstage and about 15 minutes after, the headlining band comes on. I love them. They are absolutely sick!

The show finishes and Lucy gives Ashton her phone number after Mali told her not to. I think she seems nice, but not the girl for Ashton.

We go around back to where the bands' vans are. We see the bassist talking to a few guys. I can see a few stacks of CDs in the back. The other members of his band are loading up the van.

"Hi," we greet their bassist.

"Hey," he responds.

"Can I get a CD?" I ask.

"Sure. Sure. That will be 10."

I hand him 10 of my paper money and he hands me a CD. It looks pretty cool.

"Thanks," I wave.

We get back to Ashton's car and instantly put the disc in. We crank up the volume the entire I was kinda scared while writing this. My Louis poster kept finally and scaring me every time. Okay! Onto the chapter. Hope you enjoy.
