What I Need

Caia Johnson is 23 and stuck between juggling motherhood and the on going battles between her parents and her daughter, Summer, father Blake. After 7 years of being a single mother, will Caia be able to get over Blake, let her parents fix their problems themsleves and look to the future or will she crack under the pressure of trying to get Blake back into both Caia and Summer's lives?

3. Parenting struggles

For Caia, parenting a 7 year old girl alone isn't a walk in the park. After 5 years of being a single parent, you would have thought that she will have moved in but recently Blake was the only thing in her mind. She thought about what it would be like to be a real family, what it would be like to have a relationship and what it would be like when it came to raising Summer.  She had finished her day at the salon and was heading to pick up Summer from school. She suddenly got a call from her mom. "Hi mom, what's up?" Caia asked. "Caia, can I stay with you a few days? You know how your dad's being an absolute pain in the ass about the divorce proceedings and Shaniah is hormonal as ever seeing as the baby's coming soon. I just need a break love." Maria said. "Yea it's fine, I'll come pick you up after I've got Summer from school." Caia explained. "Thank you so much, darling. See you later." Maria said, hanging up. "Great, I've got my crazy mom to look after like Summer for the evening." She said to herself as she pulled into the school pick up zone where Summer was stood with her friend, Grace and her mom, Leann. "Hey Leann, thanks for keeping an eye on her whilst I was driving." Caia said, seeing Summer climb in the back. "No problem, Caia. See you tommorow Summer!" Leann said, heading to her own car with her own daughter. "Did you have a good day?" Caia asked, pulling out of the school and driving the way towards her parents soon to be sold home where she grew up. "Yea it was fun. Why are we going to grandma and papa's?" Summer asked. "Grandma is staying over tonight." Caia explained. "Oh." Summer said, laying back in her car seat and looking out the window. Caia always thought that her parents marriage would fit in the 50% that work category but it clearly didn't after the stupid, petty fights they got into all about my 5 year old half sister, Autumn dad had with a random woman in a pretty quick affair. They arrived at her parents and Maria was already waiting in the drive way. "Hi mom." Caia said. "Hi honey. Can you drive please." Maria ordered. "Yea sure ,sure...." And with that command, Caia headed back to her house on the other side of town. Why did Caia's life have to be the struggle all of a sudden?
