Brutal Love

People say love is supposed to be special, magical even. When I was a little girl I expected to wake up one morning and my knight in shining armour would be stood outside my window however what fairytales don't prepare you for is the actually stone cold world. It only took me a second to realise how much of a tale those stories were and ever since that second I have been trapped in my own personal hell.

Kaitlyn was 14 years old when her parents died in a plane crash and she was shipped off to adoptive parents that couldn't care less about her. She was completely broken until Aaron came along, he promised he would fix her but everyone knows good things don't last forever...

At 17 years old she's more damaged than ever, she can feel any hope she once had rapidly fading away but not all is lost. What happens when the perfect and most unexpected guy appears out of the blue? Will it be the happily ever after she deserves or is he not as perfect as he seems?

4. Chapter 2

I hadn't even stepped out of the car before Jess yanked me towards her, embracing me in a tight hug.

"Kait! I missed you."

"Dude, it's only been two days." I laugh softly.

"Two days too many." She grinned, "So how was the weekend with loverboy?" Her eyebrows wiggled.

"Erm... Yeah- it was fun." I forced a smile.

"Any gossip?"

"Not at all." I rolled my eyes.

"I was wrong about him. I honestly thought he was a douche but he seems to be the perfect gentleman." she began to drag me towards the school doors.

"Yeah, the perfect gentleman." Was I lying? I mean, what is happening must be normal, I've seen dad hit mum on more than one occasion. Aaron is a nice guy I just don't deserve him, I make him angry but he still stays. He loves me.

As I opened my locker I felt two strong arms around my waist. I smiled as I turned my head.

"Hey Aaron."

"Hey sexy." He kissed my neck which caused me to shiver slightly, not in a good way.

I have an issue when it comes to guys touching me inappropriately or kissing me in places other than the face area, I guess in just not ready for sexual contact yet. Yeah I know I'm 17 blah blah blah, that doesn't mean I need to go losing my virginity because it's legal. I don't give a flying f*ck that everyone else may be, I'm not.

"I was thinking you could come round mine tonight?" He whispered in my ear.

"I can't. I need to stay home, my brother's going out but he expects me to be home when he-"

"I'm not letting you stay in the house alone." Aaron said sternly.

Jess imputed in the conversation, "Aww Aaron Jacobs being all protective. Cute."

"I am not cute." He growled, Aaron hates Jess for some unknown reason, luckily he hasn't stopped me from seeing her.

"Jeez, calm yourself dude." with that she walked away, I turned to Aaron.

"You know my brother doesn't like you and if he sees you when he checks on me then-" I was interrupted.

"Listen to me you little slut. I'm coming round whether you like it or not." His voice was low and harsh.

"I'm serious Aaron, you can't-" again I was cut off my a sharp pain. I whimper as he pushes his fingers into my side, directly over the bruise he previously caused.

"Are you trying to hide something from me, huh? You know fine well your brother doesn't care about you. I bet you're sleeping around with some other guy." His fingers continued to scratch at my skin.

I could feel tears about to spill over from the pain, I swear I could feel blood trickling down my side.

"I swear I'm not!" my voice came out cracked "okay okay, you can come round."

His grip loosened instantly causing me to release a breath I didn't know I was holding.

"Good." his mood switched instantly and he smiled, kissing my cheek, "See you at lunch baby."

I stood in the hallways astonished, how can someone change their personality so quickly? it's beyond me...

A sigh escapes my lips, I just wish I could make him happy. I'm never good enough for him. Just once I want to make him proud to call me his girlfriend.

After what felt like an eternity the end of third period bell rang. I was out if the door like a shot. I hated lessons like math, partly because it's math and partly because none of my friends are in that class. Aaron and his gang were in middle set , I was in bottom set and Jess was in top set with Felicity and Alexia. The joys of being useless.

I groaned as I plonked myself down on the chair opposite Felicity.

"I swear if I see one more number I'm going to lose the small trace of sanity I have left."

"Come on Kaity, math isn't THAT bad." Alexia laughed.

"It is when you don't understand any of it." I protested.

"I can help you." I turned my attention to the guy sat next to Felicity.

"Not to sound rude but who are you?"

"Oh in El's cousin, I just transferred here. The name's Conner." He smiled kindly.

"Well it's nice to meet you Connor! I'm Kaitlyn, and as for your offer I'd very much like-"

"You to back off."

That's funny, those words didn't come from my mouth.

"She can do it herself, she's just being lazy." Aaron's voice was sounded from behind.

A few laughs erupted across the table, the smirk that was pasted on Aaron's face made it look like he was joking.

"Hey Aaron, why don't you sit with us instead of rushing off to play soccer? Your girlfriend missed you." Jess smiled cheekily.

"You know I think I might..." He sat down next to me, "who wouldn't miss me?" He kisses my jawbone softly.

"You know it." I smile towards him but his eyes trailed off towards Amber, the cliché school slut. No one else saw him check her out but I couldn't miss it. I think the fact that I'm depriving him of his sexual needs is causing him to be distracted, maybe I could make myself ready? If it means he would love me more then I don't think it would be too uncomfortable.

"Earth to Kaitlyn." I snapped out of my daze as Jess clicked her fingers in front of my eyes.

"Hmm?" I looked over at her.

"I said are you going to get something to eat?"

"She's already fat enough." This time no one laughed with Aaron. They all looked at him, it felt as if the whole room had gone deadly silent. No one spoke.

"I'm kidding." He tried to reassure everyone but they didn't seem too convinced.

"I'm not hungry anyway." I could practically hear my stomach protesting to my lie.

"Are you sure?" for the first time ever since I told Jess I was dating Aaron I saw her give me a worried look.

"Positive." I could see Aaron slyly looking at my stomach in disgust. He thinks I'm fat. Is my weight the reason why he's never satisfied with me?

"It's not healthy Kaitlyn, you need to eat something. You're way too skinny." El commented.

"I'm not THAT skinny." I denied.

"You're skinnier than THAT skinny. Dude, your size 6 clothes drown you out." Alexia imputed.

"Guys I'm not hungry okay?!" I snapped before sighing, "I'm sorry, I just had a big breakfast."

"You better not be lying to me girlie." Jess still didn't look convinced.

"I'm not. Ask Brett if you don't believe me." I really hope she doesn't ask Brett, he knows fine well that I skipped breakfast this morning.

"Fine, fine."

The bell sounded throughout the canteen causing multiple groans.

Aaron pulled me into a hug as I stood up, his hands a little too low for my liking.

"I'll see you tonight baby. I'll be round yours for seven."

"Bye Aaron." I pecked his lips before exiting the hall with Jess, El, Connor and Alexia.

As much as I don't want to aggravate Aaron I wish he wasn't so persistent. I guess that's what love is.
