Silverwood's Secret

There were always stories about an ancient secret, hidden behind the Silverwood Estate, but that's all they were to Amy. Stories, lost in the sands of time and the ignorance of humanity. So when Victoria Rhye mysteriously disappears from her home late Friday night, Amy doesn't hesitate to follow a lead deep into the forest at Silverwood, along with her good friends Jordan and Leon. What they find there was definitely not the answers they were expecting.

8. Good morning

"Where the hell have you been?!", Dad roared at me as I closed the door.

"Nice to see you to."

"Don't get smart with me! What's gotten into you? Do you think you don't have rules now that your 16?"

"No, Daddy."

"Well what is it? Is it because of Victoria?"

"No, Daddy." He paused for a moment.

"Sweetie...just tell me something. Anything, please. I can't help you if you don't tell me." I didn't answer. "Have you gotten into something bad? Honey, I'll always love you no matter what. I just need you to talk to me. I need to now you're alright!"

"Can you just trust me? I'm fine. I can't tell you anything else. But Dad," I hugged him. "I'm fine and I can handle this. I'm not alone, ok?" He sighed.

"Ok. Now go to your room."

"I love you.", I said.

"I love you more."

"Liar." I smiled and headed for my room.

Max and Ben were sprawled out on my bed. They had obviously been waiting for me. I sighed.

"Max. Ben. Get out of my bed.", I whispered.

Max grunted and rolled over, almost pushing Ben off the bed. I grabbed a pillow and blanket and lay down on the floor. I was asleep within seconds.

I woke up before dawn. Max and Ben were still asleep. I could hear Mom in the kitchen making her morning coffee. I decided to join her.

"Good morning. You're up early."

"Yeah. I'm trying to stop staying out so late."

"I see."

I fixed a glass of orange juice and grabbed some toast then sat down.

"You stole my toast!", Mom said. I grinned at her with my mouth full of toast. She lightly smacked my leg with the morning paper.

"Ow!", I joked.

"That's what happens when you take my toast." She stuck her tongue out at me.

"So where do you plan on going today?", she asked.

"I'm just gonna hang out with Jordan." She looked at me. "What?", I asked.

"Are you using protection?" I spit out my juice in surprise.

"What?! Mom, it's not like that!"

"Oh. What do you mean?"

"We're just friends."

"Oh. Alright. Sorry I made that awkward, but you two have spent a lot of time together lately."

"It's fine, I guess."

"Good. Now I have to go. I'll see you tonight." She kissed the top of my head. "Love you."

"Love you too."

After she left, I got dressed in the bathroom, since the boys were still in my room. I messaged Jordan to come and get me. Within a few minutes I heard a horn beep.

"Hey.", I greeted.

"What's on the agenda today?", he asked with a smile.

"I want to get used other half."

"I see. Did you bring extra clothes?"

"Alright. To the forests!" We drove for a while and stopped near a nearly invisible dirt path.

"This is the main entrance to the pack house.", Jordan explained.

"Oh.", I said.

"This way."

So we headed into the trees, moving farther from the pack house.
