End Up Here

4. Traitors

I awoke to someone playing with the messy bun my hair was tied up in. "James piss off," I mumbled into my pillow.

"It's not James," said a familiar voice.

"Andi, piss off,"

"Do I really sound like a girl?"

I opened my eyes and saw Michael lying next to me. "Wasgonohn?" I yawned.

"Told you I would visit," Michael said almost teasingly.

I nodded my head into my pillow.

"James and Andi told me what happened on your way here," Michael said seriously this time. "They're back, aren't they?"

I nodded my head again.

"Fuck," Michael whispered angrily.

Last time I was having flashback episodes I ended up collapsing and taken to hospital. Michael was there when it happened once and he said it was one of his worst experiences.

Michael quickly wrapped me up in a big hug and kissed the top of my forehead. "You can tell Cal, you know," he said. "He's not going to judge you like you think he is."

"Maybe not," I said quietly. "But that doesn't mean he won't pity me and you know I hate when people pity me.

Michael sighed in defeat.

"What's the time?" I asked.

"Four thirty, why?"

"Shit!" I exclaimed. "I've got to get ready for work."

"You sure you should be doing that, Li?" Michael questioned worriedly. "What if you have a flashback in the middle of serving someone or using the fryer or something?"

"I'll take my meds before I go," I assured my best friend as I searched for my work top in the pile of clothes that occupied the bottom of my bed.

"C'mon, Li," Michael said. "I'll cover your shift for you and tell Greg what's going on."

I shook my head. "I'll be fine, Mikey."

Michael looked at me in concern.

"Thanks for the offer though," I told him with a smile on my face.

Michael got up off my bed and gave me a hug. "Call me if you need anything, okay?"

I nodded. "I'll see you tomorrow."

Michael kissed the top of my head again. "Be safe, okay."

I chuckled and nodded before Michael walked out.

When I had finished getting dressed and doing my makeup for work, I grabbed my hat, my car keys and my wallet, said bye to James and Andi and left for work at Hell's Pizza.

"Hey guys," I smiled at my co workers as I clocked in.

"Hey, Amelia," my boss, Greg, said. "How are you?"

"I'm good," I lied with a smile before getting on with my job.

Eventually, my shift was nearing it end and I was getting ready to clock off when Greg asked me to take one last delivery. I shrugged and agreed seeing the address and that it wouldn't take long.

"It's already been paid for," Greg told me, "so you can just take the bag home and bring it back for your next shift and I'll clock you off."

I smiled at Greg and thanked him before setting off for delivery.

The house I was going to wasn't that far from my own, just around the corner.

I was surprised when Michael opened the door to a house I had never been to before.

"Hey, Lia," Michael smiled.

"What're you doing here?" I asked him as I handed over the pizza.

"Oh, right, this is Luke's house," he replied. "We're having a FIFA night and thought you might want to join so I got Greg to make you the food deliverer."

I spun around angrily, stormed off to my car and slammed the door. Michael went inside for a few seconds before sprinting down to my car.

"What the hell, Li?" Michael asked. "I just offered for you to join us."

"Is Calum in there too?"

Michael nodded. "And Ashton."

I threw my hands up hitting the roof of my car. "Ow," I muttered. "Have fun with your new fucking best friend." I started up my car and pulled out of New Kid's driveway. I sped off down the road to my house.

Lucas was replacing me. It used to be just me they'd play FIFA with and any other video game. It was our thing. Now New Kid and Ashton were stealing it.
