Luke looks down and blushes a deep red. What the hell.
"Um...." I say awkwardly and I now know the guy as Calum blinks, clears his throat and walks away (hopefully) to get my ice cream.
Once he's gone I turn to Luke who's still looking at the ground.
"Lucas." I say in a warning tone and he looks up with a sheepish smile.
"Y-yeah?" He mumbles.
"What was that all about?" I ask and he opens his mouth to answer but Calum come back and hands me the ice cream not taking his eyes off Luke.
"Thanks." I say.
After a second or so, I nudge Luke who looks up but once he meets Calum's gaze he looks down then looks at me.
"What kind of ice cream do you want?" I ask.
"I know what to get." Calum says walking away before Luke even opened his mouth, leaving me confused.
"You've got some explaining to do Lucifer." I say in singsong type of way and he groans.
Calum comes back and hands Luke the ice cream and Luke looks surprised and looks up to meet his eyes.
"Y-you r-remem-mbered?" He says quietly but not many people are here so it's quiet but we we can head Luke clearly.
Calum shrugs and smiles softly. "Kinda hard to forget when that's all you use to eat." He chuckles.
Luke smiles and digs in his pocket and gets out his wallet.
I groan. "I can pay for my own dude." I say shoving him while he smirks at me.
"Yeah well your opinion is invalid." He says to me and I glare at him.
Luke hands him the money while Calum looks at me then back at Luke.
We turn to walk but Calum calls, "Hey um can I talk to you for a second?" He asks looking at me and I look back at Luke who looks a little weary.
I motion for him to get a seat and make my way back to the Calum guy.
"Yeah?" I ask leaning against the counter.
"Uh, I- um." His eyes go from my face and down word and I sigh.
I snap my fingers in from of his face. "Hey my eyes are up here." I say and he blushes deep red.
"Oh shit. Right sorry. Don't tell your boyfriend. Didn't mean to." He says and I raise an eyebrow.
"My boyfriend?" I ask confused and he nods.
"The guy who came in here yesterday with you and at the store." He says and I laugh.
"Well, he's not my boyfriend." I say chuckling as he goes an even deeper red.
"Sorry. Again." He says and I nod my head.
"It's fine. What did you want to talk to me about?" I ask licking my ice cream.
"Oh yeah. Damn I really hate getting side tracked and all because it happens when I least want it to- shit I did it again. Right Luke. How- how did you get him to talk to you?" He blurts out and I furrow my eyebrows.
"What do you mean?" I ask and he sighs.
"Like, talk. You know, like what I'm doing now." He says and I roll my eyes.
"I know that dumbass. But what do you mean getting him to talk?" I ask.
He bites his lip. "Well, something happened a while ago and he shut everyone out. He wouldn't talk and if he did it was one worded things or he stuttered like crazy, at points I got so bad that you didn't understand what he said half the time." Calum says and I glance back at Luke who's eating ice cream and on his phone.
I look back at Calum. "Well, when I first met him he was pretty bad with the whole stuttering thing but this morning he didn't stutter and he even woke me up. I was peacefully sleeping and he came in and shook me till I woke up. I hate when people wake me up." I say and Calum's eyes are huge.
"What? He actually did that?" He asks and I nod my head.
"Yep. I told him to fuck off and he called me a bucket of sunshine." I grumble rolling my eyes as he chuckles.
"I didn't even get your name." Calum says.
"Right. I'm Tyler." I say and he nods his head.
"Calum, as you already heard from Luke." He says and I chuckle.
"Yeah. Well I better get back to Blondie. Nice officially meeting you Calum." I say nodding my head at him as I walk away back to Luke.
I sit across from him and he looks up with a frown.
"What's wrong?" I ask and he looks down.
I give him a pointed look. "Luke, c'mon."
He just looks down at the table and for a second I feel like he's not going to answer me.
"I heard you." He mumbles.
"What?" He caught me off guard.
"I heard Calum and you talking." He whispers and I frown a little. So? Why would he be upset?
I sigh. "Let's go somewhere else so we can talk." He nods his head and grabs my arm helping me up.
We walk out the door and Calum gives me a sympathetic look and I just get even more confused.
We walk out of Cold Hearted to the park, no ones there right now.
He drags me to tree not to far from the playground and sits down on the ground, tugging me down with him.
He takes a deep before letting it out.
"Where do I begin?" He says running his hand through his hair.
