see you around.

she was in love with another man // daniel sahyounie.

1. see you around.

see you around
she was in love with another man

You'd love another man
My heart is broken in two
She wears a ring on the other hand
She's scared to tell me the truth

"What's the matter?" Daniel asked, looking rather concerned.

A girl, who was not much older than him, sat at the table opposite him. She had made a phone call to him and asked him to come and meet her at the nearby café. She was nervous to see him. She didn't know how he was going to react at the news she had to tell him. He tapped his fingers against the table nervously and she sighed.

"I..I need to tell you something," She said quietly and looked down at her coffee cup. "We need to erm, break-up."

He looked at her, staring through her soul. Was he hearing things right? He couldn't believe his eyes. "What?"

"We need to break-up.."

"Why though? I thought everything was fine between us. I love you."

She sighed and shook her head. "But, there's someone else and I love him, not you."

"Wait.. Was this just a whole game? To make him jealous?"

"No it wasn't like that," She wiped a tear away from her cheek. "I had so much fun with you but you have to understand that I love someone else and he's not you. I don't want to lie to you anymore."

Daniel shook his head. He couldn't believe what he was hearing - it was a mixture of her lies and his heart breaking. "Understand? What is there to understand? You love another man. Were you seeing him when we were together?"

She didn't answer. He swallowed to keep his tears back - he couldn't believe it. He mumbled, "I see."

"Daniel, please don't be mad." She pleaded.

"Don't be mad? You cheated on me. You told me I was the best thing to ever happen to you but you lied. You were fucking another man and I didn't know!" He slammed his hand on the table, causing the other customers to turn round. "How could I be so stupid!"

"You're not stupid," She reassured him. "You might be dopey but you are not stupid. You deserve so much more and I'm sorry I really am. I didn't mean to hurt you - I really didn't."

And with that, she left. Leaving Daniel sat there with his head in his hands, trying to fight back the tears and not show it to anybody. She lied and broke him into a million pieces. Baby Daniel is heartbroken.

But if you are leaving
I want you to know that
I shoulda loved you way more, way more
So, if this is the end of us now...
I'll see you around

A few weeks have passed and Daniel is slowly healing his heart. The boys have been a massive help, they make him laugh and the fans have given him space and not asked questions. He might be the second oldest of the group but he's considered the baby and that means he's the one everyone wants to look after at times like this. He received a text message the other week from her asking if they could meet so they could clear the air. But Daniel didn't want too. He knew it would be bad and everyone turned him against the idea.

Since then, she hasn't left him alone. She's been blowing up his phone, asking to come and meet like she doesn't get the hint. He just ignores her. Maybe it's for the best. She'll soon get the hint and walk away - go back to her other man.

Daniel was sat on the kitchen counter with Beau when his phone beeped. He picked it up, read the message and deleted it.

"Man she won't leave me alone," He moaned. "I thought I wanted this. You know, her trying to win me back but I don't for some reason. Maybe one day I'll meet to clear the air but not at the minute and she won't get the hint."

"Just ignore her. She'll get bored sooner or later."

"I am ignoring it but she won't stop blowing up my phone."

Beau sighed. "Go and see her."

"I know it's a bad idea but she'll get the hint in the end. Go and clear the air and she'll leave you alone."

"You told me not to," Daniel frowned. "You said it was a bad idea."

Beau sighed loudly. "I know and it is still a bad idea but go and tell her to leave you alone."

I'll see you around
You mean more to me than anything
And it hurts cause you don't love me

Daniel walked into the café that he hasn't been to since the pair broke up and he took a seat at a table near the window. He just wanted it to be over and done with because let's be honest, she's moved on quickly and now it was his turn. After a few minutes of thinking and waiting, a figure appeared opposite him. He looked up to see her sitting there with a small smile on her face.

"Thank you for coming," She said.

"So, why do you want to clear the air?" He asked. "Why did you bring me here?"

She messed with her fingers a little bit and thought for a minute before speaking, "I just think we split on the wrong foot and I just want to clear it up between so you don't end up hating me."

"I don't hate you."

"Anyway, I felt bad for the state I left you in the other week and I just wanted to say I'm sorry. I didn't mean to hurt you and I hope you know from the bottom of my heart that I really didn't. You made me happy at one point but for some reason, I didn't love you. That does not mean, however, I didn't like you. I wasn't seeing you to make anybody jealous - for some reason my heart was always with him and not with you," She sighed. "I loved seeing you. You gave my butterflies but not as many as he does. I was happy seeing you all the time but not as much as I am to see him. You get me?"

He nodded. "I get you but I just don't get it. You said you loved me the day before you ended it. Why would you say it if you didn't mean it?"

"Because," She swallowed. "I thought I did. I thought I was in love with you but when I went home, he came over and he made me feel love. Love that can't be explained."

"Okay," He sighed. "Whatever. So was that it? Bring me to here to compare me to him?"

"No of course not. I was hoping it could have cleared the air but I guess it hasn't."

He frowned. "You thought by comparing me to a completely random man you suddenly love was going to clear the air? Well guess what, it didn't and it won't. Now tell me the real reason you brought me here."

"That was the real reason," She looked down at the table. "I truly am sorry. I truly never meant to hurt you."

"Whatever," Daniel stood up and pushed his chair under the table. "I just thought I'd let you know that you mean, well meant, the world to me and it actually hurts knowing you don't love me and never did. I'll see you around, yeah?"

She nodded and he nodded slightly back before heading home.

No, no, no, no
So I just wanna see you happy

He told the boys everything that she told him and half of them thought he was an idiot for going to see her but they gave him their support. They knew it must be hard for them and he needed them more than anything. However, Beau knew it wouldn't be long until he bounces back to his unusual self. He never stayed sad for long.

On the way home, he sent her a quick text message. It wasn't anything mean, it was kind of cute and he hoped she saw it and didn't just delete it straight away. It read; As long as he makes you happy, I'm happy. That's all I want to see, you smile.

He hasn't received a reply yet but he doesn't expect one. He just wanted her to be happy and if he couldn't do it, he sure hoped this new man could.

No that you are comfortable
I think that I am losing my mind
It's crazy, cause we were so inseparable
Guess things change with time

After the meeting at the café, he still hasn't heard from her. He's still waiting for a reply to his last text to her but he knows it'll probably never happen. Now, it's time for him to move on and find himself someone that'll love him as much as he loves her. She moved on so Daniel must do the same.

The boys threw a house parties but he never found anybody there that would make good girlfriend material. Sure, he made out with a few girls but that was a far as it got - that's what he tells everybody anyway. He's a bit more curious of girls and whether he'd be able to trust them and whether they'd love him back but the boys tell him to stop worrying. He'll find someone soon. Maybe sooner than he thinks.

Does he kiss and wipe away your tears
Does he tell you that there's nothing to fear
Oh, if I had a wishing well, I would have you right here

Before he falls asleep, Daniel always thinks about how she's doing and whether he makes her feel special and is treating her as well as he did. He hoped he did because she deserved to be happy.

He wondered whether he wipes her tears whenever she's upset like he used to. Whether he tells her there's nothing to be afraid of like he used to. Sometimes, he does get lonely in bed but he deals with it. Soon he will have someone next to him. In a few months. He just needs to be patient because something is going to happen.

As much as he wanted her there, he knew he couldn't have her and slowly, she'll be out his mind forever.

So, girl, if you are leaving
Baby, I want you to know that
I shoulda loved you way more, way more
So, if this is the end of us now...
I'll see you around

The boys had just done an interview and they had to answer fan questions and Daniel had fun. He thought been asked who was single and who wasn't would be hard but it wasn't. It was easy and he was confident as he answered. Maybe he was ready to move on. The boys thought he wasn't ready but he proved them wrong - baby Daniel was no longer heartbroken. It felt like his heart had been healed and now he was finally happy again. Truly happy.

They all went to the cinema afterwards with a few friends and Daniel loved it. They bumped into a few fans on the way and stopped to greet them and take a few photos. Daniel liked his fans company and he knew he could rely on them to make his happy and laugh. Soon all the fans had taken photos with all the boys and they were soon off again.

But no everything was going to be sunshine and rainbows.

I'll see you around
You mean more to me than anything
And it hurts cause you don't love me

Daniel heard a voice as he entered Starbucks. He'd gone there to get some drinks for him and the boys and he wasn't expecting to bump into anyone. He turned to see her - his ex-girlfriend sat at a table. Fuck. "Oh hey," He said softly.

"Come here for a minute I want to show you something," She pointed to the chair opposite her. "Please just for a minute."

Why do people always come back when you're moving on? He sighed and moved towards the table. "What?"

She lifted her left hand up to a diamond ring. "I'm engaged."

"Nice," He nodded and smiled slightly. "Congrats."

"Listen, I haven't seen you since we met at the café. How are you doing?"

"I was doing fine without you," He muttered.

"Nothing. I'm doing great. Me and the boys are just off to a meeting."

She nodded and put her head down when a dark figure came closer to the pair.

"Who are you?" A deep voice spoke.

Daniel looked up to see a brown haired boy looking down at him - he must have been about six foot. "Oh I'm sorry," He spoke politely. "I'm Daniel."

"Yeah, what are you doing with my fiancée?"

"Oh so you're the man she was telling me about. The one that made her happy and gave her butterflies like I didn't," His smile faded. "I'll see you around Natalia."

He went to the counter to place his order of drinks and turned round to see the man placing a kiss on Natalia's lips. He was filled with jealousy but he didn't want the boys to know that he spoke her so he pretended it was busy and he was stuck in a queue. He paid the woman behind the till and took his drinks before walking out, leaving his ex and her new fiancée sipping and laughing over a coffee.

No, no, no, no
So I just wanna see you happy

Tonight, the boys were having another house party and Daniel had decided to push his encounter with Natalia to the back of his mind. He was going to have fun and see if he could find a girl to make him happy like she did for a while. He got changed into a t-shirt and jeans and rushed downstairs to pour himself an alcoholic drink. This was the beginning of something new and Daniel knew something good was going to happen.

The house eventually filled and there were guests everywhere, dancing and talking. Daniel was sat in the kitchen, pouring himself a drink when he saw a figure come towards him. He turned to see a brunette girl standing next to him, reaching for the drinks.

"Hey, let me get that for you."

He grabbed the drink and poured it into a red cup for her and handed it to her. She smiled, showing of her white teeth and took the cup out of his hands. "Thank you." She took a sip and placed it on the counter. "I'm Lauren."

They spent the rest of the evening speaking, dancing and even sharing a little peck on the lips at the end of the night. Before she left, they exchanged numbers and kissed one more time. Daniel couldn't stop grinning from ear to ear and the boys were happy for him. This was going to be the start of something beautiful.

I didn't listen, you went missing
He has your heart now
I'm missing your kisses
Want it again
Don't leave me down

He began texting Lauren more and soon, they began hanging out almost all the time. They went roller-skating, ate sushi together, went to the gym and just hung at his house. He has never felt this happy since his ex-girlfriend and Lauren was given him that happiness he felt with her but it was stronger this time. She felt the same way - she adored him and his fans.

They were seeing one another but it wasn't official.

He was keeping this a secret. For now anyway. Until he found out what she really thought of him.

Wish I could keep you all to myself
I wanna work it out
But you moved on, I see it now
Oh, oh
Guess I'll see you around

A few months passed and a lot of things changed for Daniel. Him and Lauren decided not to become girlfriend and boyfriend but continued to be friends and see one another. Who knows what the future will bring for them? Maybe it'll bring them to together as a couple or maybe it'll bring them both different partners.

Daniel never saw or heard from Natalia after the Starbucks encounter. He heard from a few friends that she moved from LA and is starting a new life with her fiancée. He truly wished them the best. All he ever wanted for her to be happy.

The boys got themselves a movie deal with Lionsgate and Daniel was excited to start filming that with the boys. The boys meant the world to him - they were his best mates and he was having fun travelling the world and living his dream with them. Who needs a girl?
