i loved your friend when i saw his film
he's got a funny face, but i like that 'cause he still looks cool
I spent most of my time waiting around my flat for a call or text from Brandy. When my phone went off, though, it was usually one of the boys. Ashton would want to complain about Hero, or Michael would bitch about his girlfriend, Delilah. Luke would come home and brag about Indie, but none of them seemed to want to listen to my problem because it's been the same problem for the longest time.
A knock at the door made me groan. I knew it was going to be one of the boys. They were going to barge in and go into a rant about how Delilah's run off again, or Hero's too high again, or Indie could be the one. Honestly, I didn't care about what their relationships were with their girlfriends - or whatever Ashton was calling him and Hero.
I was surprised when I opened the door. Instead of a tall boy leaning impatiently against the door frame, I saw a petite girl with blonde hair in her face and her hands behind her back. I smiled down at her. "Hey, Brans. What's up?"
She smiled a devilish smile. "Look what I got." she sang as she brought her hands forward. There was a six pack of Root Beer - her favorite - and a plastic bag full of candy. I half expected her to bring weed, honestly.
I stood out of the way for her to walk in. She let herself into the living room, sitting down on the couch and setting everything out on the coffee table. "We haven't had a movie marathon in forever," she groaned. "So here I am. Sit!"
I immediately sat down next to her. She curled her feet up and snuggled into my side as she looked up at me. "So what movie are we watching?"
I shrugged. "I didn't know I had to pick one out."
She huffed as she got up. "Sometimes, Hood, you're just no use."
"Hey," I laughed, trying to sound hurt. "You came over without notice."
"Touche." she nodded, bending in front of the stacks of video games and movies Luke and I had piled next to the TV.
I got up to help her pick movies to watch. She went through the majority of them, saying, "No" to each in a bored tone. She finally settled on Harry Potter, which surprised me because she never struck me as a Potter sort of person.
"What's with the sudden interest in Harry Potter?" I wondered.
"My boyfriend's been watching it nonstop lately." she said as she sat back down next to me like how she was before.
"When can I find out who this boyfriend of yours is anyway?" I inquired, putting my arm around her.
She sighed. "I suppose you can know. So, remember back in school and I had that friend who was in the movie contest?"
"With the blond fringe?" I asked and she nodded. "Yeah, I remember him. Is that him?"
"Mhmm," she hummed. "His name is PJ."
"I loved your friend when I saw his film," I mused. "Other than that, he was an asshole."
"Hey," she hit my stomach playfully. Then she sighed. "Alright, you're kind of right about that."
"And he's got a funny face." I continued with a smile.
She laughed, but tried to hide it. "Quit it, Calum!"
"He does!" I defended. "His nose is huge, his chin looks like he got implants, and does he even have eyebrows?"
"Calum." she groaned, now getting fed up.
"I'm sorry, I'm just saying." I told her.
"I know he's not the best looking, but I like that," she said matter-of-factly. "'Cause he still looks cool."
"You think he looks cool?" I scoffed.
"Cooler than you." she shot back with a smirk plain on her face. Then she sat up straight, twisting her body so her torso was completely facing me. She put her hands on my thigh to hold herself up. "Remember when you pierced your lip to impress that girl? You thought it looked cool."
"That girl was you," I reminded her, my face turning a bit red. "And you admitted it looked cool."
"Yeah," she shrugged, slipping back into my side. "But it got in the way a lot. I guess I just don't like kissing guys with metal on their mouth."
"Why do you think I took it out after three days?" I chuckled.
"I know," she smiled, hugging me tighter. "You're just the sweetest."
"The shit I put myself through for you." I sighed.
"I appreciate it." she promised.
She obviously didn't appreciate it enough. She was still with that other douchebag instead of with me.
