Babysitting One Direction

All 18-year old Anna Lee wanted was a summer babysitting job. That's exactly what she got when she received a call from someone named Simon requesting a babysitter for his five sons. Who knew that the five boys would be the boy band One Direction? Or that sometimes they'd be babysitting her!

20. Babysitting Lottie

“Good morning, Anna Lee!” Jay exclaimed as I walked down the grand stairs and into the living room.

“Morning, Jay!” I replied happily, skipping straight into the kitchen.

“How’d you sleep?”

“Very well!” I grabbed an apple off the counter and took a bite.

"Why are you so cheery this morning?” Jacob yawned, walking out of his and Jay’s bedroom. I grinned,

“I don’t know. Maybe it was Louis’ wake up call.” Jay laughed,

“Did he sing that good morning song again?” I nodded. Jacob burst out laughing,

“Someday we need to set up cameras and blackmail him with this stuff.” I smirked,

“I already have a ton of him on my phone!”

“You should post one on twitter!” Jay suggested. I pulled out my phone and chose one of my favorite blackmail pictures: Louis fake picking his nose. (but only I knew that!)

@Anna_Lee_Tommo: Love you @Louis_Tomlinson!

“The fans are going to love this!” Jay said, laughing as her phone dinged with a twitter notification. We suddenly heard a door slam from upstairs.

“ANNA LEE TOMLINSON!” Louis yelled. My eyes widened,

“Hide me!” Jacob grabbed my hand and led me to him and Jay’s bedroom.

“Under the bed!” He hissed, letting go of my hand and leaving the room, closing the door behind him. The bed was tall. Tall enough that I could sit up underneath. I snuggled into the rug – why is there a rug under a bed anyways? I lifted it up to see a handle. A secret passage? Sweet! This must have been why Jacob told me to come under here!

I pulled the handle, and as I expected, it opened up to some sort of secret passage. I slipped in and closed the door behind me and started to climb down the stairs, holding onto the rail for the support. It was pitch black. I reached the last step and started to feel around the wall for a light switch. Bull’s eye! I flicked it on and the room illuminated. It looked to be like a playroom – toys were scattered and a huge flat screen T.V. was hung on the wall.

“What is this place?” I wondered aloud.

“It’s me and my dad’s hideout.” I spun around to see Lottie with her arms crossed appearing from the shadows in the room. “Why are you in here?” She asked crossly.

“Your dad sent me down here,” I admitted, “But only because Louis was about to kill me.” Her phone suddenly pinged.

“I’m guessing this is why Louis was about to kill you?” She asked, trying not to laugh.

“Yep.” We looked at each other and burst out laughing. The laughter quickly died and we were met with an awkward silence. I coughed,

“Hey Lottie?” She turned to look at me.

“I’m sorry for whatever I did to you. I didn’t mean to hurt your feelings.” I spun around on my heel and started to walk out of the room.

“Wait, Anna Lee,” Lottie croaked, “I’m sorry.” I went back over to her. “I was jealous,” She admitted, “You live with Louis and the boys. The girls think you’re a rock star. Even Mom and Dad adore you. I just,” She sniffed, “Missed Louis and I didn’t want you to take him away from me.” I pulled her into a hug as the tears leaked out of her eyes.

“I’ll never take Louis away from you Lottie,” I whispered.

“Can we start over?” She asked quietly. I grinned down at her.

“Of course. I’m Anna Lee Tomlinson, your long lost sister.” She smiled,

“I’m Lottie, your long lost sister.” We stood in a no longer awkward silence, embracing each other.

“I’ve always wanted a big sister,” She whispered. I laughed,

“You got one girl!” BEEP BEEP BEEP! We jumped apart, startled. I looked down to see my pocket vibrating. Ah, phone. I pulled it out.

I giggled at his name.

“Yello’?” I answered.

“HIYA!” Niall shouted through the phone. I grinned,

“Hey Nialler!” I looked over at Lottie who brightened when I said his name. I winked and handed the phone to her. She turned it on speaker.

“How’s the family?” He asked.

“Fabulous,” I answered, “I love my new sisters!” Lottie grinned. I heard a stomp from above us.

“What did you do?”

“Check twitter,” Lottie supplied.

“Alrighty. And Hey Lott.” I could hear the quiet tap of buttons before Niall’s roaring laugh made us jump.

“Nice job, Lee!” He yelped between laughter.

“ANNA LEE WHERE ARE YOU!?” Louis yelled at the top of his lungs.

“You should probably go,” Niall mused.

“Probs,” I chirped, “I’ll call you back later Ni.”

“Bye Lee.”

“Bye Niall.”

“Bye!” Lottie squeaked before I disconnected the call.

“So what’s going on between you and Niall?” She asked wiggling her eyebrows. I looked at her strangely,

“What do you mean?” She scoffed,

“Come on ‘Lee’,” She mocked, “I know there’s something going on between you!” I burst out laughing.

“Yeah right, Lottie! Like I’d ever have something going on with Niall! I’m his BABYSITTER,” I replied, emphasizing the last part. She raised her eyebrows.

“Right,” She paused, “What about the rest of them?” I wrinkled my nose.

“Sorry to rain on your parade Lott, but I’m not really interested in dating right now.”

“Try telling that to the four guys that like you.” I spun around to see Louis leaning against the door post with his arms crossed over his chest.

“What?” I stuttered. I thought Jacob was kidding. I’m their babysitter. Lottie nudged me with a smirk.

“Told ya,” she whispered. I sighed,

“Whatever Lott,” I muttered, chuckling lowly at her response. Louis raised an eyebrow,

“What happened between you two?” I put my arm around Lottie’s shoulder,

“We’re sisters!” Louis smiled,

“I’m glad.” I grinned brightly.

“GROUP HUG!” Louis yelled, smashing the three of us together. I felt Louis fingers poke my stomach and I stiffened.

“Don’t Lou,” I warned. He smirked and started to tickle me.

“STOP!” I said between laughter.

“Never!” He yelled. I jerked away and ran upstairs.

“I’LL GET YOU!” He screamed from behind me. He was hot on my heels. But what he didn’t know couldn’t hurt him- I was on the track team all through high school. It was my out. I raced through the kitchen and out the back door. Past the backyard and into the woods. Louis was starting to slow down but I kept going.

“Dudet! Why are you so fast?” Louis exclaimed as I got further and further ahead of him. I looked over my shoulder to see him bent over with his hands on his knees.

“Somebody needs to get back in shape!” I called, laughing. I kept running.

I got to the point where I couldn’t see him anymore and my breaths became pants. I slowed down to a fast walk. I felt my phone buzz in my pocket.

“Yo,” I said not bothering to read the caller ID.

“Is this Anna Lee Tomlinson?” A woman asked from the other end of the line.

“Who is asking?” I questioned.

“This is Mary Grace Elliot from Kensington hospital?” I stopped walking. “Miss Tomlinson?”

“This is she,” I muttered.

“You’re the only relative of Oliver Tomlinson, correct?”

“He has foster parents,” I replied confusedly, “But I’m his half sister.”

“I’m sorry to inform you that your half brother was involved in a serious car wreck,” She said. I froze.

“I’m not allowed to release further information until you come to the hospital,” She continued, “Can you be here tomorrow?”

“I’ll be there,” I whispered.

“Fabulous! Have a great morning Miss Tomlinson!”

Well, it wasn’t a good morning now.
