Eight Years Later
It was the day of the festival. It was called the Festival of New since it fell on the time of new. Who would have thought I would come back seven years later and come into open arms. The snow lightly fell on the window. Of course, Ronald was supremely excited and a week later asked me to be the Queen. I had said yes and everyone thought it was a good match. No one remembered my other identity. It was as if they had forgotten that I was the Assassin in White. Not that I cared. After leaving Fredrick and I traveled the world doing assassin jobs. I also learned the skill that the Queen had but got in deep with the only people who understood it. Thankfully I escaped with my life and came back here. So, technically I was in hiding. Hiding in plain view. A small cry broke my thoughts. I turned and walked toward a crib. Picking up my son I cradled him in my arms. The only thing that worried me now was that organization finding me and my family. I doubt they care where I’ve gone but then again that didn’t stop me from worrying. I’ve made plenty of enemies as well as allies. I walked back over to the widow. Alexander wiggled and stretched his arm out. I lightly placed my hand on his small arm and looked at him. He was still small but beautiful. I kissed his forehead and looked out the window. On every street I could see there were dancers, bands, laughter, people, lights, and decorations. A door opened and I looked to see the head nurse of the castle. She was the person I could trust with my son since she had her own running about the castle helping or playing.
“You should go to the throne room now, the party is coming to us.” Molly said smiling. I smiled at her and walked over to the crib. Making sure Alexander was covered I headed over to the fireplace. My crown sat there glittering. After placing it on my head I smiled. Who would have known nine years ago I would make the decision that changed my life and everyone around me.
I am the Assassin. The Assassin in White.
My hands are forever stained with all types of blood.
That's the job of an Assassin.
That's my job.
