“Jake, what are you doing?!" I panicked. "I'm getting you outta here. You can't be here it's not safe. You have to go Anna. C'mon. "Jake said. He grabbed my arm and started pulling me towards the door. "No Jake I'm not going anywhere until you tell me what happened." I said, pulling out of his grip and taking a few steps back. "Annabelle." "Jake." "I'm not kidding Anna." He said, obviously not joking. "Neither am I Jake. What happened? Why did that guy come at me when he heard that I was your sister? What did you do?" I sternly said. I didn't know what happened, but I know that I was more than determined to find out. "Anna we have to go. Get the fuck over here." He was frustrated, mad, and obviously in trouble for something that he doesn't want me to know. "Tell me what you did and we can go. Just tell me we what happened." He sighed and walked over to me, grabbing my hand and pulling me behind a crate. As soon as I saw what I saw I gasped and put my hands over my mouth before I started screaming.
Ever since I was a kid, I've never been able to handle blood. No matter how much there was, in this case, a lot. I always would either past out, or scream. It does sound lame to just scream at the sight of blood, but it's from an event in my past. Something happened, it involved death and blood, and lots of it. I never talk about it, never explain the reason of it, no one knows, and I'm never telling anyone. The only person who knows is Jake. I didn't have to tell him, he was with me .My parents don’t know, Ali doesn’t know, Maggie doesn’t know, Izzie doesn’t know, the boys don’t know. The only person in the whole world that knows is Jake, and it’s never going to change.
“ I tried to get you to leave, you wouldn’t have had to see this if you just listened to me Anna.” He said, raising his voice. Suddenly hearing a bunch of police sirens getting louder. I couldn’t say or do anything. I was completely frozen. Because of the sight, the only thing I could actually do was scream and cry. And that’s exactly what I did. My eyes got watery and I screamed.
“Anna wake up! Its ok. You’re ok. Wake up Annabelle.” I heard someone say. They continued to shake me, not hard, but a gentle shake, and wipe the hair that stuck on my face from sweat.
When I opened my eyes, I looked at who was shaking me and I saw Michael. He sat on my bed with me in his lap, one arm around me, the other moving my hair from my face and wiping away the tears that stained my cheeks. He looked worried, or startled. Or maybe it was the fact that it’s still dark out and I just woke him up with my screaming.
“Are you ok? What happened?” he franticly asked. I tried to say something, to form some kind of sentence, but I couldn’t. Even though the dream wasn’t real, it was close enough to make me not even be able to talk. So instead, I just looked him in the eyes, slowly dug my face in his chest, allowing the tears to stain his shirt, and wrapped my arms around him.
We sat there like this for awhile before I could actually talk. “how long did that last? Like, the screaming.” I whispered, my voice shaky. He looked down at me. “Not long. Maybe like, 5 minutes. As soon as I heard you screaming, I woke up and came over here. You stopped not long after I sat down with you. Why?” He asked. “Normally it lasts around a half hour. No one has been able to stop it. Not even Jake. The only way was to just let it stop eventually.” I explained. “ So I’m the only one who has calmed you down?” he asked. “The only one.” I replied. “I guess that makes me special.” He said smiling. “Yep.” “how often do these dreams happen?” he asked. “ if I’m lucky, only once a week. Normally 3 times a week. So, pretty often.” “Well, I guess I’ll have to stick around.” He smiled widely and un-wrapped his arms around me and got up. He walked over to my I-pod dock and turned to look at me. “Where’s your I-pod?” he asked. “uh…” I got up and walked out of the room and into the hall to get my back pack. When I came back I set it on my bed and opened the top, and started digging through it. Once I found my I-pod, I handed it to Michael and sat at the end of my bed, watching as he turned it on and looked through my thousands of song choices. When he was done he set it on the dock, pressed a few buttons, and walked to the end of my bed and sat down next to me. Wipe your eyes by Maroon 5 played softly.
“Why’d you choose this song?” I asked, laying back, michael doing the same. “ because, it fits the situation.” He smiled. “come over, and let me embrace you,” he quoted the song, hugging me. “ The night before you fall asleep, ill run my thumb across your cheek, cry, coz I’m here to wipe your eyes.” “I guess your right, it does fit.” I smiled. I was feeling a little better than I was earlier. But I still don’t understand how michael calmed me down. No one has ever been able to do that.
“what do you plan on doing?” michael asked, supporting himself on his elbow. “Now? Or in the future?” he lauged. “both.” “well, in the future, I wanna do something that has to do with music. Preferably a singer, or just playing an instrument in a band or something. As of now? I cant really go back to sleep, so I guess I could give you that tour I promised?” I said, sitting up. “you wanna be in a band?” I nodded. “and you can play an instrument?” “ yeah, a few. I can play guitar, both acoustic and electric, and piano. What about you? Can you play anything?” I asked. He smiled.” Yeah uh, I can play guitar.” “Good, then your gonna love the room im about to show you.” I smiled and got off the bed. Michael did the same and followed me out to the hall.
I'm sorry this is short, it'll be longer in the next chapter :D
