2. The Day I Met Him
I was walking along in the woods, looking for food and supplies. I really needed anything I could find, for my survival. I'm alone -I don't have any family- which means I depend on my own self to feed and nurture, myself. It's not like I'm an orphan...I just don't know where my parents are and why they abandoned me. People have told me that they didn't have enough money to take care of me or to have another mouth to feed. So they abandoned me along the woods.
Anyways, I was walking, with confidence, when something hits me. Was it a acorn, a rock, or the sky? I look up to find a young but not so young boy on the top of the tree branches, sitting. He looked around my age, maybe a little older.
But as I gaze into his eyes, he yells,"Hey, sorry about that. I didn't see you there." " It's okay. It didn't even hurt that bad." I say, even though it did. Thinking about what hit my head, I say, "Name would be helpful." " Liam. Liam Collins." He responds, working his way through the apples and pears on the tree.
"Um....so I gotta go...", I exclaimed, turning around and walking. "No! Wait! What about your name?" He questioned, jumping off the tree branch and landing without hurting himself. "Katherine Johnson." I answered, taking a bow and walking. "W-w-w-wait....do you mind helping me with these fruits? I could give you some afterwards." He asked. "Uh..I don't think so." I replied, showing a slight grin.
