Zayn wakes me up the next morning in the hotel. We stayed at a cheap hotel in the middle of nowhere. The room we got had two beds and a pull out couch. I offered to sleep on the couch, but Liam just laughed, “Do you think we’re stupid? Louis would kill us if he knew you slept on the couch.”
So I slept in one of the beds, and then Zayn and Liam flipped a coin for the other one, and Zayn got it. Liam ended up on the couch, and I honestly don’t think that helped at all with his apparent dislike for me.
Anyways, I feel Zayn shake my shoulder, and he says, “Come on Evelyn, we need to get going now.”
I mumble, “I’m tired…”
He sighs, “You can sleep in the car, let’s go.”
I just shake my head, and cuddle with my teddy bear some more, letting myself drift off to sleep again.
I sigh in frustration when Evelyn won’t get up, and finally just decide to carry her out to the car. I honestly don’t care if she whines later because she didn’t get to get dressed or any of that. She should’ve just woken up in the first place. I pick her up from the bed, blanket and all, and tell Liam, “She won’t get up, grab the rest of her stuff, yeah?”
He nods a little, and once we get her in the car and grab the rest of our stuff, we leave, and get going so that we can hopefully make it the rest of the way to the house before it gets too late tonight. I’m pretty sure that Louis, Harry, and Niall are all ahead of us, but that doesn’t really surprise me honestly.
I drive today, and Liam and I talk about stuff that relates to business and all since Evelyn’s asleep. Liam’s honestly pissed off that Louis wouldn’t leave Evelyn back home, but I guess I can understand why he wouldn’t. Louis loves her more than anything in the world, and he’s not just going to leave her with anyone. It’s not like Harry was staying behind too or anything, we were all leaving. Also, Evelyn’s done things for us here and there along the lines of making phone calls and running to the bank, so some people might actually consider her a real member of the gang, and not just Louis’s girlfriend.
Anyways, even though I might not hangout with Evelyn anymore, and Louis got all upset and said we were too close, I still worry about her. I mean, I don’t want her to get hurt or taken or anything like that. She’s like a little sister to me even if I don’t act like it anymore. She’s important to all of us, at least solely because she’s so important to Louis.
I wake up again, this time I’m not in the bed anymore. Where did Zayn take me? I’m about to look around, but then I hear Liam say, “Louis just needs to get rid of her, it’s better for him anyway, she just causes issues for us.”
Zayn surprisingly defends me, “Liam, you know that Louis loves her, and he’s not going to get rid of her or just tell her that it’s over, it doesn’t matter what happens. You know that, so stop pushing him, it’s not going to end well.”
Liam asks, “What do you mean by that? What’s he going to do Zayn? Honestly, what on earth is Louis of all people going to do about me telling him the truth??”
Zayn says, “You know damn well that he’s mentioned leaving if you don’t let it be, and you know that Harry would go with him. If you keep acting like this, I might too.”
I decide to just try to go back to sleep so they won’t ever know that I heard their conversation, and soon enough I manage to.
Later on I wake again and sit up in the back seat. Liam looks angry and is texting someone, and Zayn looks annoyed as well. I don’t know what’s going on, but don’t really want to ask and make someone angry. I just look out the window and read signs as we pass them. I’m startled when Liam curses and hits the dash board, and let out a small yelp. Liam glares at me and says, “Shut the fuck up Evelyn.”
I whimper a little and nod. Zayn snaps, “Leave her alone Liam, you’re the one who frightened her anyways.”
Liam rolls his eyes, “I’m getting real sick of you feeling bad for her and acting like I’m the bad guy here Zayn. If she wasn’t so helpless I wouldn’t have had to decide to bring her with us!”
Zayn shakes his head, and Liam’s phone rings. He answers it and finishes his call quickly and with only a few words. Once he hangs up, he throws it at the floor of the car, and curses. I jump a little, and bring my legs up to my chest. Zayn and Liam keep on arguing until Zayn pulls off the freeway and into an empty parking lot and both get out of the car. I text Louis and tell him that I’m scared, and just as he calls me; Liam shoves Zayn, who shoves him right back.
I get out of the car quickly, not wanting them to really hurt each other, and say, “Stop! Stop it you guys!”
They don’t, and Liam actually punches Zayn in the face. I hurry over to them, and try to pull Liam away from Zayn, saying, “Please stop gu-“
I’m cut off when Liam shoves me back, and shrugs off my grip. I stumble back, and lose my footing. I end up falling down onto the pavement, and hit my head. It hurts really badly, but then everything goes black.
After Evelyn didn’t answer my call, I tried Liam, and then Zayn, who actually answered. I ask, “What the hell is going on? Why is Evelyn texting me that she’s scared? I swear to God I’ll kill the two of you if it’s your fault!”
Zayn says, “Louis, calm down. We’re about forty minutes out, and we’ll talk about it then. Alright?”
I sigh, “Fine, but I still mean it. She better be fine.”
That was about an hour ago, and they’re just pulling into the driveway of the cabin now. I’m about to go outside, but Niall stops me and says, “Louis, just… don’t start a fight, okay? You don’t want to scare her again, yeah?”
I nod dismissively, and he’s about to start talking again, but then I see Zayn carrying Evelyn inside and it looks like there’s blood on his shirt… I hurry out to them, and walk inside with him. He sets her on the couch, and I shove him, asking, “What the hell happened?”
Zayn puts his hands up defensively, and says, “It was Liam, not me, alright?”
