“What? Sorry I was daydreaming,” He chuckled awkwardly.
“Which is it, Alice or Alicia?” I raised my eyebrow.
“Oh, we call her Alice for short, it’s easier than Alicia.” He explained.
“Right,” I muttered. “So when am I going to meet her?” I said joyfully.
“Uh, I don’t know. She’s still on holiday and stuff.”
“Well, when is she back?” I asked him.
“Whenever she’s ready I guess,” He shrugged before getting in the car.
“Okay…” I mumbled.
“How did it go?” Gina asked as I walked through the door.
“It was okay,” I shrugged.
“What did the doctor say?”
“That I’m improving, I had a few scans done and he should get the results back in a week or two so I’ll see how it goes then.” I said grabbing an apple from the fruit bowl in the kitchen.
“Well as long as you’re improving.” She said, smiling. Beau walked in with his phone in his hand texting and frowning down at the device. He placed it down on the kitchen isle whilst grabbing a protein shake from the fridge.
“Uh, Beau, they’re Luke and Jai’s.” Gina told him sternly. He just shrugged. “Beau,” Her voice got louder.
“It won’t hurt them if I just take one.” He told her.
“You used to go crazy when they stole one of yours.” She said raising her eyebrows.
“Yeah, used to.”
“No, we all know you still would.” She told him. I giggled knowing it would be true. He shot me a look. What’s up with him?
“Fine, ok, I won’t have the stupid shake.” He said sounding pissed off, placing it back in the fridge before walking out of the room.
“What the hell is up with him?” Gina asked me.
“I have no idea,”
Gina and I spent the last hour talking and laughing about different things. She was so lovely and kind.
“Don’t you ever get tired from having so many boys in the house?” I asked her referring to James, Daniel, Luke and Jai. James and Daniel practically live here I can’t imagine how tiring it must be for Gina.
“I used to, but I’m used to it now and they’re lovely boys.” She smiled, yeah that is true. “What would you like for dinner?”
“I don’t mind,” I smiled at her.
“The boys should be home soon so we’ll see what they say.” She said. I nodded in agreement. “Could you go and ask Beau what he wants please?” She asked me softly.
“Sure,” I said. Before I was able to spin around and walk to his room I felt someone behind me.
“I’m staying out tonight; I’ll grab something to eat whilst I’m out.” Beau said. I looked up at him, he seemed in pain. His eyes seemed full of sorrow, nothing like the normal cheerful Beau.
“Where are you going?” I asked frowning.
“Out,” He said bluntly before grabbing his jacket and walking out the front door, out of sight. Gina let out a small sigh.
“He doesn’t mean anything by it.” Gina said.
“Maybe, but these sudden mood swings, I just don’t understand. One minute he’s fine and then the next he is having a tantrum.”
“He’s not normally like this, ever since-” Gina stopped herself before she could carry on.
“Ever since what?” I asked, furrowing my eyebrows.
“The accident.” She mumbled. I was about to speak when I heard cheering come from the corridors.
“Hey mum,” Luke said appearing in the doorway. “Hey, Mimi,” He said messing up my hair.
“What’s Beau done now?” He asked, rolling his eyes. He must have noticed something was up.
“Just Beau being Beau,” I gave him a fake smile.
“Hey, since when is Beau speaking to Kaitlyn again?” Jai asked confused walking into the room.
“Who’s Kaitlyn?” I asked, puzzled.
“Oh, Beau’s ex, he was crazy about her.” Luke said, chuckling a bit. “How do you know he’s with Kaitlyn?” Luke asked Jai.
“He tweeted a picture of them two together saying ‘Missed this girl’” He said shrugging. A pang of jealousy hit me like a ton of bricks. Why am I jealous? I shouldn’t be jealous.
