“What do you want to do today?” Beau asked as he cleaned up the dishes.
“Hmm, not too sure. Is it ok if I go and take a nap?” I said sleepily. Beau nodded so I made my way back to the bedroom. My body was aching, my head was spinning and I felt my temperature rising. I must be coming down with the flu or something. As soon as I laid myself down on the comfy bed I fell asleep instantly.
I wake with a jolt. The apartment was dead silent. Normally I would hear Beau talking on the phone or laughing at something that he found funny on TV but nothing not even a single movement. Hmm, maybe he fell asleep on the sofa.
I glance up, at the end of the bed is a black shadow. I start blinking my eyes trying to wake myself up a bit more hoping I imagined it. I reached across the bedside table to turn the lamp on. I jerk my head back to where the shadow was to find nothing there. I shake my head, maybe I did imagine it?
I jumped out of bed and made my way towards the living room, Beau wasn’t in here. Okay, maybe the kitchen? The kitchen was empty. Where is he? I went to call him when I heard the front door open.
“Hey, I thought you were sleeping?” Beau frowned.
“You should have waked me up telling me you were going out! I got a little scared.”
“Sorry, I was only out for half hour.” He said placing a few shopping bags on the kitchen table.
“Where’d you go?”
“Shopping with a friend,” He said rather quickly. “Are you okay?” He asked, looking down at me.
“Yeah I just kind of panicked.” I said truthfully.
“I’m here now,” He kissed my head. “Want to watch a movie?” He suggested, smiling.
“Yeah,” I replied smiling back, looking up at him.
“You get TV set up whilst I go and get changed.” Beau said leaving the room. I followed him and sat myself down in front of the TV flicking through the DVD’s.
“Melia?” Beau appeared in the door way between the living room and bedroom.
“Yeah?” I asked him, confused at his expression.
“Why did you open the balcony?” As soon as he said this I froze.
“I-I didn’t,” I stuttered, fear taking over.
“You didn’t open it?” He furrowed his eyebrows.
“No, I,” I stopped realising something. “Shit,” I breathed, a lump getting stuck in my throat.
“When I woke up I thought I saw something at the end of the bed but I didn’t think anything of it thinking it was my mind playing games. I turned the light on and the shadow was gone but the balcony door weren’t open then.” I said, panicking. It has to be him, he was in here. I watched Beau inhale sharply.
“Pack your bag.” He said with a stern voice.
“What?” I croaked.
“We’re not staying here. Not for tonight anyway. Pack your back with a few clothes and things you need.” I didn’t argue, I followed his instructions and made my way into the bedroom, walking past Beau.
“Where are we going?” I asked quietly.
“We’ll stay with the boys and mum,” He said whilst packing his own bag. I pulled out my big black Zara bag from the wardrobe filling it with 3 pairs of tops, a pair of shorts, a pair of black leggings and my puma suede’s. I then grabbed my make up bag and toiletries filling up the bag completely.
“Done?” Beau asked, looking at his phone.
“I just need my phone charger.” I muttered, unplugging the wire from the plug socket. “Let’s go.”
Just thinking he was in here whilst I was sleeping sent shivers down my spine and not the good ones.
“You cold?” Beau asked wrapping his arm around me as we made our way to the car. I shook my head confused, looking down realising I had goose bumps over my arms. I relaxed in his arms but one sudden thought made me tense all over again.
