20. Chapter 20

It was now 11:30 am which meant we were all getting ready to head off to St Kilda Beach. I decided to wear my pink fringe bikini with some Aztec shorts, converse, a few bracelets, a ring, my zigzag beach bag and my black sunglasses. If I’m honest I didn’t even know I owned half this stuff but I’m not complaining. I plaited my hair last night so it was now wavy. I kept my makeup simple so I only put a bit of bronzer and some lip gloss. (

“Melia, you ready? The boys have left already!” Georgia shouted from the bottom of the stairs.

“One sec!” I called back grabbing my white and pink striped beach towel and bag. I threw my black sunglasses on and walked downstairs.

“Got everything?” Rosanna asked getting impatient. Well, all the girls seemed impatient.

“Yup,” I said jumping off the last step of the stairs.

“What took you so long?” Grace asked walking out the front door.

“I only took an hour,” I shrugged.

“Ehem, correction, 2 hours.” Tilly butted in.

“Hey, no my fault if you all woke me up late!” I defended myself.

“Actually we woke you up when we woke up but you wanted 10 extra minutes sleep which then led to 30 minutes extra and that meant-” I interrupted Georgia before she could carry on moaning.

“Ok, ok, I get it, I was just tired okay?” I said yawning.

“Looks like someone still is,” Tilly smiled.

“What time did you fall asleep last night?” Ro asked.

“Ehh, like half four?”

“What!” All the girls shouted at me as they got in the car.

“I couldn’t get to sleep,” I shrugged.

“No wonder you’re so tired.” Ro said from the back of the car. I slipped in, in the passenger seat, next to Georgia who was driving.

“Why did you go to sleep so late?”

“Stuff on my mind, plus you all fell asleep at 2 so not much difference.”

“If you think 2 hours isn’t a big difference then sure, fine, not much difference.” Grace joined in.

“Can we change subject please we’re all here now anyway.”

“Okay,” They all spoke.

“The boys are like 10 minutes away from the beach.” Rosanna informed us.

“I actually can’t wait, haven’t been to the beach in ages,” I said smiling.

“I’m really craving an ice cream,” Grace said.

“I want a slurpee,” I started craving a slurpee so, so bad.

“Oh my god! Same!” Tilly called out.

“Yes, okay, good, as soon as we get there we will go and buy one.” I clapped my hands with happiness. The girls all laughed at me.

“Are all the boys going?” Tilly asked.

“Yup, I think so.” Grace said answering her question.

“Shit, do you think Beau will recognise my voice from last night?” She asked all worried.

“No, I doubt it. I don’t think he’ll catch on.” I tried to calm her down.

“Even if he does suspect anything just deny it. He has no proof it was you and even if it was it was a harmless phone call.” Georgia told her. A harmless phone call which leads into more secrets, should I confront Beau about it? Why does he have to have a girlfriend?

“Why does who have to have a girlfriend?” I heard Georgia ask me.

“Wait, what?” I asked with confusion.

“She was obviously thinking out loud again,” Rosanna giggled.

“Did I say that out loud?” I covered my mouth with my hands.

“Yup,” Grace said grinning.

“So who?” Rosanna asked with excitement.

“I don’t know what you’re talking about.” I bit the inside of my gums looking out the window trying to avoid them all.

“Oh, come on, who?” Grace joined in.

“Oh, look! A hot air balloon!” I pointed outside.

“What? Where?” The girls asked excitedly.

“Oh, it’s gone now.” I replied.

“Tell us!” They all synced.

“Oh, look, we’re here.” I said happily as Georgia pulled up. I grabbed my bag and ran out the car hoping they wouldn’t question me, but only to find myself bumping into someone.

“Hey,” He grinned at me.

“Hiya,” I squeaked out. He was shirtless and his body looked so good. I couldn’t take my eyes off his abs.

“Oh, hey, Beau.” Georgia gave him a warm smile walking up next to me. I finally pulled my eyes away from his body and up to his face. He was staring at me with a smirk slapped on his face.

“Tilly, shall we go and get that slurpee?” I wanted to get away from here. If I spent one more second around Beau I wouldn’t be able to control myself.
