Avery's POV

Luke's lips were like a drug. "Avery calm down you aren't even dating him" I thought to myself as we both pulled away from the kiss. His eyes sparkled and scanned my lips again before a sheepish smile creeped across his face. He helped me down from the counter and we walked upstairs to get ready for bed in silence. I put on a black tank top and some black pajama shorts. I pulled my hair into a messy bun and washed my face and brushed my teeth. I stepped back into Luke's room crossing my arms insecurely to see him sitting on his phone in bed. His eyes looked up for a moment. I could tell he was checking me out. I guess he could tell I was slightly uncomfortable because his eyes filled with concern before he said "what's wrong babe?" "I mean I don't know...a guy that I like can see me in my pajamas" I said while climbing onto the other side of his king sized bed. He chuckled before turning to face me and said "you're beautiful, don't you worry." I couldn't help but blush. He is so sweet. He got up and took off his shirt to reveal his toned but not too toned torso. I couldn't help but stare, but my staring was interrupted when he flipped the light switch off. I heard him climb back into bed and get comfortable. We laid there quietly for a minute or two before he broke the silence "are you going to tell me what happened after I dropped you off at your house earlier?" I took a deep breath and then explained the whole thing with my dad dying and tonight's melt down. I couldn't tell him everything else just yet...by the end of my story I was crying pretty hard. "Oh Avery I had no idea I'm so sorry, oh my god. That's awful. Is there anything I can do?" Luke said with a genuine concern in his voice. I said nothing and tried to calm my sobbing down. Just a few minutes later I felt Luke's warm body wrap around my narrow frame. His bare chest is against my back. I'm really starting to fall for this boy.
