Precious Memories

This isn’t just any old story by any old author on any old bit of paper. This is a story of true friendship, between two true friends. Elizabeth and Alexis have been friends for as long as they could remember. They’ve been through thick and thin, fights and break-ups, and made endless precious memories. From meeting at a wedding at age 5, to having children of their own, this is their story.

5. Science Romance

Alexis' P.O.V

As Elizabeth threw the crumpled piece of paper to me, I shot her a look, which blatantly meant "I'm so going to kill you. We're even, okay!" I smiled as Theo sat down, already sure of the fact that I was red as a tomato. When Mrs Beagley had walked over to help another student with their cell drawing, I grabbed Elizabeth's note and opened it. Her joined-up writing read:

Alexis and Theo, sitting in a tree, k-i-s-s-i-n-g. First comes love, then comes marriage, then comes a baby in a golden carriage!

"Wow real mature Elizabeth" I said, rolling my eyes and crumpling the note up into my pocket. Elizabeth and I tried to be serious, but we both burst out laughing within seconds. When it came to acting our age, well, we didn't really understand that concept.

"Hey, you shouldn't be talking to me. May I remind you that Mr Lover Boy is sat next to you." Elizabeth replied, winking. I turned away to face Theo, who by now, was playing on his phone under the desk. I saw that Miss had spotted him and was walking towards us from the other side of the classroom, so I tapped him on the shoulder.

"Miss is coming, Theo" I sheepishly said, gesturing to her.

"Thanks Alexis" he said, quickly slipping his phone back into his pocket and grabbing his pen.

"How's it going?" Theo questioned, looking up and smiling at me. His brown hair was messily styled and he had taken his blazer off, revealing his muscular arms. I could just about hear Elizabeth whispering behind me 'go on, dare you to touch his arm'.

"I'm good, thank you. What about you?" Oh my god, that was so cringe.

"Not bad. We've got Music next right?" he asked. We were in quite a few of the same classes.

"Yeah, we have". I replied.

For the rest of the lesson, Theo and I continued to talk, despite Miss coming over several times to warn us. We both kept laughing at random moments, and Elizabeth would look at me, to which I would reply with a wink. She was busy with her own science romance. Every so often she would flick her long blonde pony tail when Sam said something, and flutter her long eyelashes which encased her hazel eyes. Elizabeth always got nervous around boys, which was clear to anyone at this moment in time, as her usually pale skin was turning redder with each moment they spent deep in conversation. I managed to hear that they were talking about what lessons they had next - much like Theo and I were.  PE was next. Elizabeth didn't really enjoy sports, except running, which she was brilliant at. I only really enjoyed gymnastics, as to be fair it was the only sport I was good at, seeing as I'd been doing it since I was 5. Elizabeth also had her hobbies. Along with acting like a total idiot with me, she loved reading, and was also Grade 5 in Piano.

"Right class. That's it for today. If you could leave quietly-" Miss Beagley started, before we all shoved our noisy stools under the tables and rushed out of the classroom. Teacher's still haven't realised that students don't know the meaning of 'quietly'.

I stood outside the classroom and waited for Elizabeth, who was still talking to Sam about something. I turned to my right and saw Theo stood at the end of the corridor waiting for his friends, and he smiled at me, to which I replied with the same gesture.

"See you later Elizabeth" Sam said, before walking off towards Theo and a group of boys.

"See ya" she replied, before turning to me and silently freaking out. I laughed at my best friend, before we headed downstairs to the canteen.
