11. Chapter 11
A lot of people experience anxiety. Be it because you are going to make a presentation before your class, or before you jump into the water from that new springboard they made by the swimming-pool. Anxiety is seen every day and it is not at all dangerous. However it’s when the anxiety takes the upper hand that you might need to see a psychologist or in worst case a psychiatrist to help you. But even though a lot of people experience anxiety in smaller doses, a lot of people still find it hard to understand how it might turn out for someone with worst case anxiety. That’s also why it’s important to remember, as before written, that anxiety is indeed not an illness and will never be. You can’t die from anxiety! Sure it’s irritating and a lot at that, but it is not dangerous to have anxiety, even if you might need medication to lessen it.
I’m still fighting with my anxiety even now, and I know that it might not be better tomorrow, or in a week, or even in a year, but eventually things will turn up, I will get better, and I will be able to look back and say with relief: “I made it.” And it’s knowing that, that keeps me going, even when I’m at my worst, and I also know that even if I haven’t won my fight completely yet, I’m going to, and one day I will be fine, and it will feel great.
