2. The Wedding

"Not now, Hermione, Fred's coming!" Ginny hissed, pulling her friend away from the door.

"Why... Oh, right." Hermione remembered that it was bad luck for the bride and groom to see each other before the wedding. She waited until she has heard Fred go into the bathroom, and then opened the door. She and Ginny went downstairs together to meet Mrs Weasley in the kitchen. As soon as they walked in, Hermione was enveloped in a hug.

"Oh, Hermione!" cried Mrs Weasley.

"Good morning, Mrs Weasley," Hermione smiled as she pulled away.

"Please, dear, call me Molly," sniffed Mrs Weasley - or Molly - as she dabbed at her eyes. "Oh, I'm so proud!"

Only then did Hermione notice everybody else in the kitchen, all sitting round the table. All of the Weasleys: Bill, Charlie, Percy, George, Ron, Ginny and Arthur. Harry was also seated at the table. Standing up in the kitchen were...

"Mum! Dad!" Hermione have a yell and rushed over to them, giving them a huge hug. "I'm so glad you're here!"

Her parents pulled away. "We wouldn't miss your wedding for the world." Smiled her Dad.

"It looks wonderful," whispered Hermione. She and her dad were standing outside the huge marquee. Her dad squeezed her arm and, as the music began to play, led her inside. She gasped slightly as she looked inside. The whole marquee was lit up - it was full of guests, both friends and family - there were wonderful, magical decorations - the music was lovely - and Fred was standing at the opposite end, beaming at her. She thought she could cry.

As they walked, she heard several people whisper. Luna's dreamy voice could be heard. "Oh look, here she is - she looks pretty..."

They reached the other end of the marquee and her dad left her side. She stood beside Fred, barely hearing the words, and repeating them feeling as though she was in a trance. Then words reverberated in her head, clear: "You may now kiss the bride."

Hermione closed her eyes and felt Fred tilt her head, and then their lips locked. And she liked it.

She surfaced she was blushing and grinning but she found she didn't care. The whole marquee had burst into applause. She saw her mum and Molly crying, and other people clapping and smiling. Fred put his arm around her waist and they grinned back at their friends and family.
