1. Alone again
"I think you should leave" I said. I couldn't look at him. It's not only that I didn't want to, but also the tears in my eyes were blocking my view and everything turned blurry. As I blinked my view came back but the tears left my eyes and streamed down my face. I quickly wiped them with the long sleeves that were completely covering my hands. It was his shirt, and the smell of his aftershave that triggered my brain while I wiped my tears reminded me of that. I stared at my feet, and he stared at me. "Iris... Please..." Luke said. I buried my face in the massive sleeves and shrugged my shoulders. I felt his hand slowly approaching my back and when he placed it in between my shoulders he slowly started moving his thumb. The warmth of his hand gave me goosebumps and I felt a tiny spark of joy, but I immediately rejected it and pulled myself away from him in a split second. "Please..." he said again, "I am begging you..."
I didn't know what to say. I didn't even know I wanted to say anything at all. It was too hard. It all was. A few silent minutes had passed before he removed his hand and I heard the sound of his jeans rub against the couch, and when I looked up I saw him getting up. He placed his hand on my cheek and looked at my face, but I still refused to look at him. He whispered "I'm sorry" and his voice was so soft that if I hadn't seen his mouth move in the corner of my eye I wouldn't have even known he said something at all. And then he walked away from me. And I didn't stop him. I heard the door slowly fall into the lock and there I was, sitting on the couch, alone. Alone again.
