1. The Dream
I was running through the thick green forest although I didn't know what from. My legs felt as if they were going to fall off but I kept going on. I herd loud thumps, that sounded like a trotting horse, behind me. A surge of pain stabbed me in my heart. I felt like I couldn't breathe. I stumbled and almost fell before I stabilized myself by grabbing a few branches on the right side of me. I felt another wave of pain rush through my whole body this time. My head felt as if it was between two Newton balls bouncing in a rhythm similar to my heartbeat; each time they bounced against my head, the pressure, now building up, got more difficult to handle. My throbbing head, not being able to breathe, and my legs about to collapse under my feet, made running a whole lot more overwhelming. I finally tripped over some kind of thorny black plant that intertwined with my untied shoelaces. They seemed to be wrapping around my ankles and pulling me to whatever was chasing me. I managed to get my right foot out of the mess but struggled with the other foot. I pulled the leg about fifteen times before I gave it one last tug and my left foot was free. It wasn't until I got up that I realized whatever was chasing me was gone. I looked down at my now bleeding legs and tried to bandage them up with a few leaves and vines nearby. I started to feel woozy and my eyelids felt like weights were hanging on them so I attempted to lay down. But FYI, trying go from a standing position to laying down isn't so easy. I ended up face planting into the cold dirt. I didn't care though; I just let myself lay there.
Another pain rushed through me like electricity running through a cord. I heard myself scream but it sounded so distant. I found myself falling into the earth like quicksand. I tried to climb out but it was useless, I was a goner for sure. I saw a flash of light flash before my eyes. They almost seemed like glowing cat eyes. They started spinning around my head like a merry go round. I heard children laughing and screaming with joy. and their mothers laughing with them. I yelled for them to stop but the noises wouldn't go away. I saw images of me and my friends when I was a little girl. I saw my past with my mother and father before she died. They all flashed before my eyes. Suddenly, it all stopped and I found myself on a roller coaster at the amusement park with my mom. She was crying and telling me everything was going to be okay but I knew somehow that it wasn't. We were inclining until we reached the peak of the roller coaster. I looked down and saw that there was no more track for the cart we were in to ride on. My mom turned to look at me and said goodbye and that she loves me. I felt myself start to cry and that's when the cart started to go down. My stomach reached my throat and my heart stopped beating. I LOVE YOU were the last words that I heard.
I woke up in a pile of sweat and I knew instantly that something was wrong with me. I just didn't know what yet.
