HI GUYS! First of, I'd like to really apologize for taking soo damn long to update and just my lack of activity on movellas basically. I hope you forgive me and to all you loyal readers I LOVE YOU! <3
What would define hurt, or pain, or simply the feeling of utter heartbreak? I wouldn't have known much of it until that very moment. I still can't put it into words but I can just say, this feeling that was running through my head- and my heart? I didn't wish it upon anybody.
Eyes wide like a deer caught in headlights, I faced the scene before me.
A scene of utter horrific-ness. Call it whatever, but it made me want to hurl.
There he sat on a chair, and that part wouldn't be bad at all. Nope, not one bit.
Just the part where some blonde bitch straddled him.
I was this close from screaming bloody murder, or worse- crying.
This is High school. A place to study and all that educational purposes. To build a better future for the newer generation and all the better for higher intelligence- Clearly, certain people didn't have much intelligence when they couldn't tell the difference between a learning institute and a strip club.
As if everything was moving at a different level of slow, I watched every move he made.
His hand sliding up her thigh and those lips- that not so long ago were on mine, are now on hers.
Like a tidal wave, the anger that had slowly built up started to consume me, pushing the hurt to the corner. My wolf was snarling and snapping, the natural possesiveness of wolves taking its toll.
Before I even knew what I was doing, I was already half way across the cafeteria. Blinded by the rage- the rage of the hottest fire that left the devil's ass in the fifery pits of hell.
My hand curled around the mass of blonde hair, gripping all I could get my hands on and yanked back. She fell off him and onto the ground like a stack of pancakes collapsing. I paused a second when I saw who she was. Luc's pack mate... Genevie. "Have some decency." I spat out at her, my moment of surprise, gone.
Anger morphed her somewhat decent looking face into something pretty damn ugly. "What ze fuck, Beech?" She shrieked. Getting up in a burst of anger, she came at me, kitty claws drawn and ready to rumble.
Oh, was I ever prepared. I couldn't wait to beat her soul sucking, mate stealing, fake ass.
A built wall slid into my vision, blocking me to my view of her. "Hey, that's enough!" He ordered.
The scruffle that Genevie was making, trying to get through to me immediately stopped. I could all imagine her with her head down, like a little pup being chastised. You didn't disobey your alpha. Ever.
He turned around, and his beautiful emerald eye immediately attached itself onto mine. He was angry, eyes shimmering with something fierce.
Fuck if I didn't find that sexy as hell.
"What're you doing?" That broke the spell.
Like a bullet rocketing through my utter stupidity, shattering it to pieces.
Everything cleared up a little and I braced myself to the disaster that I pretty much created.
All around me, people stared with mouths wide open. Confused probably the main emotion going through their heads.
Shit. What the fuck was I thinking? Oh, wait. That's right. I wasn't thinking.
Jaw clenched. I met him with my own fierce stare. I refuse to be the one to be completely blamed for this, he had just as much fault in this, so no right did he have to ask me why I did what I did because If it was him, he would damn well have done it too.
"My question is what did you think you were doing?" I whispered fiercely.
He cocked his head and graced me with a playful smirk, but his eyes were hard. "You already made up your mind just now. As of now, you have no right as to what I wish to do."
I flinched back like I'd been slapped.
This was what you wanted, wasn't it, Amber?
I tried to convince myself that this was a good thing that he didn't want me involved in his life anymore but all I felt was the feeling of sinking.
Already feeling like too much of a freak, I backed away from him. "Yeah... I have no say." I muttered distractedly.
I turned to walk away when a voice called out. "Hey!"
Looking back, Genevie stood with her hands on her hips. "Where iz my apology?" She bristled.
Resisting from rolling my eyes, I threw out a remark that made things considerably worse.
A gasp of offence escaped her lips. "Did you hear her? She told me to go fuck myself!"
I was already walking away but I had a feeling Luc's full lips would be titled in that sexy smirk of his.
I was out of the cafeteria before you could say 'run'. Hell if I was going to stay in there with team french in the same room.
"Hey! Where're you going?" Caleb caught up to me.
"Keys." I ordered.
"I need to leave this shithole, that's why, Caleb. Now give me the keys."
He hesitated a second before reaching into his pocket for the keys with his jaw clenched. "Where are you going, Am?" He asked with a worried look.
"Don't worry, okay, Caleb? I'll be fine." I said, getting into the car.
"What happened in there just now?" He rushed out.
I closed the door and shot him a 'don't ask' look through the window.
Blasting the music, I sped out of school and onto the highway, rocking out to the music. Anything to get me to not think about what happened in the cafeteria.
Twenty minutes later I turned into a narrow path that led into the woods.
Parking the car right outside the fencing that surrounded the front, I got out of the car. Ignoring the warning sign, I climbed the fence, dropping onto the other side.
Tall trees surrounded me, covering the area, giving me little space to walk. It was so close together and filled out such a large area that any other person would be immediately lost. I, however, was no stranger to this place. I knew it like the back of my hand.
I walked and walked, until the trees got more and more sparse and spread out. I Listened to the call of the water until finally I was there. The beautiful wide lake full of pristine blue water that glittered like a thousand stars under the sunlight.
Plopping onto the ground full of the greenest grass near the lake, I sighed.
Oh, did I wish I could spend this time with her. The person that'd shown me this place. Grandma Nia.
She'd bring me here every month of the full moon from when I was small until she'd died late last year.
She was the only one that knew there was something really wrong with me. The only one.
Taking my boots off, I dipped my toes into the warm water. Laying my head on the soft green grass, I swished my toes around the water, deep in thought about nothing in particular. Closing me eyes, I allowed myself to listen to the sounds around me. The chirp of the birds, the sway of the water. I was at peace. Sweet... beautiful...
I jerked awake at the sound of a twig snapping.
Suddenly feeling disoriented as hell. I got a grip of my surroundings and found that I was still in the forest clearing. The sun was setting and it was almost dark.
My father was going to be so, so mad.
I hadn't meant to fall asleep, I'd simply come here for a peace of mind then go back, but I'd ended up falling asleep and nobody had any knowledge of where I was and-
I was roast meat. I could already tell.
Pulling my feet out of the now slightly chilly water, I shook water off and slipped my socks and boots back on.
I wasn't one to get scared easily by the dark. The night, the shadows, were my home, but something had me feeling uneasy as hell.
Standing up, I dusted off the grass that were sticking to my clothes and hair.
My head jerked up at the sound of yet again another twig snapping.
Coincidences do happen-
but I wasn't a firm believer in coincidence.
The hairs on my arms stood up on ends as my breathing quickened.
There was no proof, I couldn't see it, but my gut told me there was something out there.
A low growl erupted from somewhere hidden in the forest but not far from me.
I knew that wasn't one of my packmates, if it was, I would be able to somehow sense it, even if a little, I should still be able to.
That could only mean that this was part of the nightshade pack.
"Hello?" I called out, only to be answered by silence. "Look, if Luc put you up to this, cut it out. It's not funny." Silence. "Oh, what, is this Genevie? If you want to fight me, you'd first have to show yourself."
I waited a few moments, I was going to get in there and drag that bitch out myself when I heard a rustling coming from the woods.
In anticipation, I waited as the rustling got closer and closer.
Then, there, a large black and silver wolf appeared out behind the trees. Its eyes a menacing glowing red, a colour I'd never seen on a wolf before. Ever.
It's teeth curled up in a snarl, showing it's huge, sharp canines.
Lifting its head up, It howled out long and loud. A howl of torture and promise of retribution.
It lowered it's head and focused it's evil eyes on me. Taking an intimdating step toward me, I took a shaky step backward.
Yeah, that wasn't Genevie.
