Echo has never been allowed to leave her family's house. Trapped wasting her days on a chat line, sixteen year old Echo has met someone. Eighteen year old Brandon lives with his alcoholic mother. Will these friends find what they're supposed to be or will this friendship lead to something more...

10. North Carolina

                                                    The bus is almost there...

The bus is in Georgia. So many signs. I'm exhausted. A teen boy with little money and a lot of       experience. "We're almost out of Georgia. Almost in North Carolina." The man said.

"We're almost in Virginia." The man said. Oh thank God! This bus ride has been a living nightmare. The man next to me has been sleeping, drooling on my shoulder. Um... yuk! And the women before him was talking on her phone really loud and shushing me every time I took a breath. I fell asleep for the last hours. "Excuse me ma'me we're in North Carolina." I get up, dazed and go sit on a bench, waiting for a boy with green eyes and brown hair...

The bus stopped. "All off if you're getting off in North Carolina." I step down and look around. I see a girl with white hair and blue eyes, the right one glazed. "Echo?" I walk up to her. "Brandon?" We hugged. Then kissed. "My first kiss." She whispers. "Mine too." I whisper back. She and I hug. Then I see the police. "We've got to go." I whisper. I take her to a hotel. "What will we do now?" She asks. I shrug. Who knows. "Well I have to go down and check with the clerk." She and I go down, holding hands. I'm with the only thing that made my life bearable.

"Hello miss." Brandon says. I love his manners. "Yes?" A girl with light brown hair turns. "I'm Willow. Can I be of service?" She looks me in the eye. "Echo?" I feel a tear slip. "Willow." We hug. "How did you survive all these years?" I asked. She shrugs. "Do you have a house?" She nods. "And you two can stay with me, but who are you?" She asks Brandon. "Echo's friend off line." She smiles. "And your boyfriend? JK. Did mom and dad keep you locked up." I nod. She  hugs me. "It's all my fault. I'm so sorry." She hugs me again. "Well lets go to my house, I just finished my shift." And we walked out, since we had nothing with us.
