5. Chapter 4
After Cas ran out I told the teacher what happened and sat back down. Then I realized I was alone with Lou. I glanced up at him and he was looking at me, I started to blush almost instantly. "What?" I said to him. "I'm guessing that happens a lot?" I nodded slowly, as my worries over came me then I just started to babble. "She always get noses bleeds when she stresses out, so it gets scary and lately they've been occurring more and more. I always ask her how things are at home but she always says fine. I feel like something is going on but she won't tell me about it." I stopped myself when I realized I said a little too much. "Uh. Sorry we only just met you, probably shouldn't be putting any weight on you, after all you have a band to deal with." I said laughing a little.
"Don't sweat it I'd like to listen to more." "No wonder they say your the good listener." I smiled and finished my work, then class ended, Lou went with me to go check of Cas and we also bumped into James, who tagged along. We got to the nurses office and there was Cas with a bloody napkin at her nose. James ran over to her asking if she was ok and being the big brother figure he was. I glanced at Louis who started to walk over to them and they started laughing. I looked back and forth between Lou and Cas and just thought 'If Only...'
"Hey don't be a loner over there join us!" James said to me and pulled my arm, I crashed right into him. And we all started joking around.Soon me and Cas had to get to English and the boys shared their next class. Since none of us would see each other til after school we all hugged and went off to our last two classes.
During French I caught Cas drawing and humming like she use to in middle school. Normally when she did that something good happened, or she had some Jolly Ranchers. I tried to ask her what she was so happy about but then Mr. Franklin snapped at her. Guess I'll find out later. After school we went to our lockers. Me and Cas were talking for a bit when James showed up behind me and scared me half to death. All he did was whisper in my ear.
"Hey Grace." I nearly elbowed him, in the face. Cas laughed so hard she stopped breathing for a second. "You two should just kiss already. You've been flirting since 10th grade." Cas said getting back at me for the 'Louis and her should date thing' "We don't flirt!" Me and James said at the same time, but Cas knew and I knew that I had feelings for James since I met him. And at times like these when we acted like a couple I couldn't help but blush.
"Why so red?" I looked up past Cas and saw Lou who was looking at me. I shot my face to the ground, embarrassed. Cas closed her locker and gave me a look, it took me a second to understand but I guessed what it was. "No way Cas! You can't bail on me today. You said you stay the night." I complained. "I've got club today, I'm sorry maybe this weekend." She said but me being stubborn got mad, slammed my locker door and walked away.
