"Joey, baby, he's right. This is your father." My eyes start to tear up again, and soon tears are streaming down my cheeks.
"Mommy, I don't have a father. It's only us, remember?" He looks at me as if I'm crazy. "Baby, yes you do.."
"Do you at least remember your sister?" I ask. "I don't have a sister." He spat. "Her name is Reese. Where's Grandmum? She has Reese." I start to fret.
"She went to get food." Joey sighs. There's a knock at the door, and the doctor steps in. "Hello, I'm Doctor Johnson, and I'm assuming that you have found out the news."
"What exactly happened? Why can't my baby remember his father?" I ask, in between sobs. "Joey-" He glances over at him, then pulls us aside. "Joey has amnesia."
It's like the world stops. "What are you talking about? He- he can't." I start. I break down, and I sing to my knees.
"No, no, no, no." I sob, and soon Niall's strong arms are wrapped around me, even though he's as broken as I am.
"Sweetie, calm down. This stress isn't good for the baby." He whispers, and I know he's right. I walk slowly back to Joey's bedside, Niall holding my hand.
"Baby.. do you remember that you're going to have another brother or sister?" I ask. "No, that's impossible. It would have to have a daddy, at least while it's in your tummy." He pokes my stomach.
"You guys have the same daddy. This man." I gesture to Niall. "No! Stop lying! Whoever that man is, he is NOT my father!"
