She woke up with a pounding in her head.
Thump thump-thump thump.
Then came the noise.
Then came the box.
Then came the man.
Or at least, that was how Angela saw things.
He stood over her in bed, looking down on her, all night long, until finally sleep caressed her and she couldn't keep watch any longer.
When she woke up, he was gone.
When she went to sleep again, there he was.
Standing over her, watching. Always watching, always calling.
She opened her eyes with a start at the noise in her room.
It was warm.
Angela scanned the room. It had been ten years since her experience with the man.
She was sixteen now.
Angela lay her head back on the hot pillow and took a breath.
The noise came.
Then the box.
The box was blue. It was a police public call box, from...1950s?
Why was it in her room?
Oh yes. That's right.
It was the Doctor.
