I watched out the lounge window, moving trucks and cars blocking the road. There was 2 guys in a white jumpsuit, probably the moving people and then suddenly a blonde guy walked out from behind the truck wearing all black. I would be lying if I said he wasn't attractive because he was. I watched as they went inside and I sighed.
"Shit." I muttered running up to my room.
As I got to my room I saw the blonde guy walking around in the room next to me.
"You've got to be kidding me." I said falling back onto my bed.
The house next door has not been in use for ages, now someone suddenly wants to buy it. Oh and not to mention one of the rooms window's is right opposite me so if I happen to forget to close my window that guy can watch me change, oh what fun.
When I finally sat up, I walked to my window and what do I see? That blonde guy looking right in. We held eye contact for a couple seconds before I shut my curtains. Creepy guy.
"Mom." I called running down the stairs.
"Have you seen our new neighbours?" She asked.
"Yeah. But one of them is moving into the room opposite me."
"Shut your curtain when you feel like you need privacy."
I closed my eyes and sighed. I felt like I needed to eat so I walked into the kitchen and grabbed my jar of Peanut Butter, after getting my spoon I walked back up to my room and headed inside. I placed the jar of PB and my spoon onto my desk and pulled out my school work that was due tomorrow.
I know, I know. You probably think of me as a nerd now right. Which I am, there's no point denying a fact right. I like school, i'm not noticed or put in the spotlight, I am just Melissa and thats how I like it.
Suddenly my phone started ringing and I answered without checking the caller ID.
"Melissa." My best friend Brook shouted into the phone.
"There's going to be a new guy at our school and apparently he's going to be amazingly attractive."
"When and where did you hear this?"
"Calum told me."
Calum was my other best friend. We have been close since Kindergarten. Sure we have had our fights but he has always been there, same goes for Brooke.
"Of course he did." I laughed.
I was debating wether or not to tell her about the guy next door, but I decided not to.
"What are you doing right now? You should come over."
"I can't. I have to finish my school work, it's due tomorrow."
"School work my ass. Who even does their homework?"
"Me. Now if you excuse me, I would like to end school. So I will just see you tomorrow."
"You're no fun."
I laughed before hanging up.
"Melissa." My mom said walking over to my door.
I put my pen down and looked at my mom.
"Yeah." I answered.
"I am going to the store to grab some food for dinner, could you please look after Madelyn while I'm gone."
I nodded, getting off of my seat.
"Where is she?"
"Sleeping. But I know she'll be up any minute."
"Okay, bye mom." I said giving her a kiss on the cheek before she left.
I walked into my little sisters room and there she was, lying in her soft pink bed. Madelyn is only 3, she can speak pretty well for a 3 year old I must say.
I walked back to my room and continued to do my homework until I heard Madelyn sob. I ran back into her room and walked to her bed. She sat up and hugged me.
"Are you okay?" I asked.
She nodded. "I had scary Dream."
I picked her up and walked to the kitchen.
"Would you like some food?" I asked.
She nodded vigorously. I walked to the fridge and pulled out some bread.
"Would you like a sandwich?"
"Jam." She squealed with laughter.
I laughed as well, grabbing the raspberry jam from the fridge. I applied it onto the sod break while Madelyn was watching with wide eyes. When I placed the top bread on I cute off the crust and sat Madelyn on the stool.
"Thank, you, Melly." She smiled taking a bite.
I smiled and made myself a sandwich while I was at it. After about 10 minutes of me and Madelyn playing hide and seek, our mom finally returned. She walked through the door and put the groceries on the kitchen bench. I helped her unpack the groceries while Madelyn was tugging on my leg telling me to come play with her again. When I finished I picked Madelyn up and made her stand on the couch so she was a bit taller.
"I will play with you later, but I need to get school work done." I smiled.
"Okay, I be good girl." She said giving me a teeth smile.
"Good girl." I smiled patting her head.
I walked off and into my room. As I started my homework I heard some talking next door, and I stood up walking to my window. Slowly I peeked through the curtains to see a lady that looks a bit younger than my mom holding a little girl thats looks about 3 and not to forget the blonde guy I saw earlier. I let my hand drop and it hit my pencil holder, I yelped from fright and the people next door looked.
I stepped away from the window and picked up everything on the ground. Suddenly my phone vibrated and I looked at it.
Brookie is fabulouus: You're boring. Me and Cal are taking you out okay.
I sighed at the text, and quickly replied coming up with an excuse and in a matter of minutes Brooke replied saying that they will take me out one night. What fun.
After my pens and pencils were off the ground and into the holder, I sat down on my desk for probably the 1000th time tonight trying to concentrate.
I jolted up by the sound of the pounding music next door, I picked my phone up and checked the time.
"You've got to be kidding me." I sighed putting my hands on my head.
It's almost 1am and our next door neighbours are having a party? I hopped out of my bed and walked over to my window to see people moving in the guys bedroom opposite mine. I opened my window quietly and looked around for something I could chuck and get someones attention. I picked one of my pens up and threw it at the window. Suddenly the music stopped and the window flung open.
"Can we help you?" Carson Waters one of the most popular guys at my school asked.
I got a lump in my throat as 3 other boys popped up.
"Uh, could you please keep the noise down?" I snapped, accidentally.
"Wow, a girl with attitude. I like that." Calum Hood, another popular guy at my school winked at me.
"What's your name?" The blonde guy asked.
I froze for a minute.
"Is that a hard question?" Carson interfered.
"Melissa." I said.
"Wait, are you Melissa Richards?" The last guy Gregg Miller asked.
I nodded slowly. "How do you know me?" I asked.
"You're the school nerd right?" Gregg asked making all the other boys laugh.
I know what I said before about not denying a fact, but c'mon can you blame me at this point?
They all looked at each other before the blonde and still nameless guy spoke.
"Come over, and play beer pong with us." He smirked.
I stared at the in disbelief. "What's that going to prove?"
"That you're a cool nerd."
"I'm not a nerd." I said through gritted teeth.
"Then come here."
I sighed and walked away from the window quickly chucking on a black top and black leggings in the corner so the boys couldn't watch me. I walked over to the window and stepped out onto the roof. I took a deep breath before walking over it and grabbing a branch from the neighbours tree and climbing on it.
"Wow, nerd turns into bad girl." Calum smirked.
I rolled my eyes and concentrated on getting my way to the other house. When I finally got on the neighbours house, I looked back to my house and sighed, smiling in the process. I climbed the roof and the boys helped in into the boys room.
"Now before we play.." I started. "What's your name?" I asked, looking at the blonde guy.
"My name is Luke, Luke Hemmings. Now play." He smirked.
"Watch and learn boys." I smiled.
I had no idea what I was doing, and I knew that it wasn't going to turn out okay.
