20. We All Have our Skeletons. . .
Ever since my family's disappearance, people have been approaching me with a rather condescending tone. As if I am not fully capable of processing the loss on my own, as if I am in need of their feign sympathy. I can tell that they really don’t care. It's like this every single day, except for when halloween comes around. They become more friendly and seemingly caring. I guess it’s because of my dedication in decorating and engaging in the holiday. It feels good to be encouraged rather than patronized. This year, I have gotten a lot of compliments about my skeletons outside my house. People appreciate the details and how authentic they look.
I should consider myself lucky that people are too stupid to connect the dots.
