“Bye, babe.” I kissed London’s forehead and watched her walk down the three steps and around the corner of the gym, walking back into this piece of shit dump I now call a home. I closed the door behind me and immediately I heard laughs coming from the people inside.
“Bye babe! I’ll miss you!” River burst out in laughs and I rolled my eyes at her obnoxious behavior. She clapped her hands as she leaned back, still busting out giggles.
“Enough. We’re here to talk about business, not this… this nonsense.” I exasperated, throwing my hands in the air she instantly stopped, resting her hands in her lap. I looked over the room, Zayn and Perrie sat on the kitchen stool, with Perrie on Zayn’s lap. Liam was sat on my bed and River was beside Zayn and Perrie on the second stool. I nodded my head and grabbed a chair, pulling it to the middle of the room and sitting down
“So as you know, Stone is looking for us. I heard some talk and he’s slowly making his way to London. My guess is that he’ll be here in about the next 3 days,” I started and watched carefully as Perrie stiffened in Zayn’s grasp, only for him to place a soft kiss behind her neck, her body visibly relaxing. Liam looked the same and River was just nodding her head along. “He wants revenge for what happened to his brother, but I want revenge too. He’s the reason I got arrested. Three days isn’t a lot of time to prepare and rumor down at the bar has it that he’s bringing men. Not just his normal two goons, but a whole gang. We’ll be out numbered so my guess is that we need more people.” I finished.
“What about Niall?” My head snapped in the direction of Perrie and I glared at the girl. “C’mon I know you have some issues, but he could really help us, Harry. You know just as well as Zayn and me how good he is with connections. He might have people who can come help as well and-“
“No! Absolutely fucking not!” I seethed. They all looked at me surprised and I suppressed a groan. “I just don’t trust him okay?” I raise and eyebrow and River scoffs.
“Why? Does this have something to do with that little tramp of yours?” She asks and immediately Perrie speaks up.
“Hey!” She defends and I glare at River. She lifts her hands up in mock defense and I roll my eyes. She smirks and puts her hands down in her lap again, her eyes trained on me.
“Maybe you should just shut u-“
“C’mon she’s a distraction, Harry. And you know it.” She says the last part a little softer and as I’m about to defend, Liam opens his mouth.
“Look! We’re not getting anything done with you two talking about… whatever the hell her name is. So you both shut up and let’s get back to business.” He says, looking between the two of us.
I sigh and nod my head. River mutters something under her breath, but the subject is left at that.
“So I’ve got a plan.” Zayn says and everyone huddles closer, listening to the dark haired boy explain us his plan. A brilliant plan at that, that it just might work.
(5 Hours Later)
I pick at my fingernails, looking around the house, just waiting for the front door to swing open and reveal London, but it’s been nearly ten minutes since she texted me saying that she’s on her way down. I frown and check my phone once more for any messages, but sigh when I come down to none. This just doesn’t feel right. I let out an exasperated groan and throw open the car door, slamming it shut behind me. The rather hot air around me makes me push back my curls and wish I hadn’t worn a jacket.
I walk up the steps that lead to the porch, but stop myself from knocking. What if her dad opens up? I sigh and make my way around the house, stopping when I hear a loud crash coming from inside. I make a halt in my movements and look around, seeing light coming from a window nearby. I quickly walk over and look inside. It looks to be the kitchen but I don’t pay much attention. All my eyes can seem to focus on is the brown haired girl, cowering against the wall, a man standing close to her. His fists are clenched to his sides and he’s glaring at the beautiful girl in the corner of the wall. I frown and look back at the front door trying to debate whether or not to interject or stand here wait.
It’s only when I see the man lifting his hand that I make a dash for the front door, not bothering to knock and bursting through the entrance. I look around and find the kitchen, rushing towards it and as soon as I see London lying helplessly on the floor is when I lose it.
My glare moved from the fragile beauty to the enraged man. I clench my fists and walk slowly toward the man that had just caused harm to my girl.
“Who the f-“ I silence the overweight bastard with hard shove, his back colliding with the countertop of the kitchen bench a groan then leaving his ashy lips. I don’t waste time in connecting my knee with the man’s stomach, having him double over in pain and fall to the floor with a ‘thud’. Without a thought, I sit on top of him, straddling him. My fist then connects to his unshaven jaw and a punch is directed to his face, another following soon after and then another. Words fall from my mouth, cussing him for laying a hand on her and telling him what a waste of space he is, but as my fist in mid-air, about to cause another shot of pain onto his face, her voice stops me from doing so.
“Stop!” She cries reaching for my shoulder. I don’t take my eyes off the near unconscious man lying limp on the floor. “Please, Harry! That’s my dad.” My eyes widen at the new revelation and I don’t hesitate before jumping off of him and turning to look at London from the far side of the kitchen, not being able to comprehend just exactly what she just told me.
“He- you- What?!” I don’t give her a chance to explain as I bolt past her, through the living room and out the front door, ignoring her shouts after me.
“Harry! Will you wait!” She wails behind me and I stop in my step, turning to glare at the distraught girl with green-blue eyes. She has tears streaming down her cheeks and she walks over to me hastily, grabbing at my shoulder when she finally reaches me. I flinch back and she steps away as if I had just caused her harm.
“I-I couldn’t t-tell you. You have to understand I was ashamed and-“
“Ashamed! You were fucking ashamed?! That bastard in there should be fucking ashamed, London!” I shout and I see her sob again at my harsh words. I take a deep breath and rub my temples, realizing I was a bit hard on her. I grab hold of her arm and pull her closer to me, but not so close that our bodies are touching, just close enough to ensure her safety and comfort. “You could have told me about this. I would have put a stop to this a long time ago.” I breath and drag my fingers over her shaking arms. I know for a fact that she’s not shaking of the weather, because of how bloody hot it is.
“I’m sorry.” She chokes out and I see another tear roll down her now red cheeks. My hands reach out for her waist and I pull her against my chest, fully encircling my arms around her petite waist. I wait for her arms to wrap around my neck and then pick the crying girl up, wrapping her legs around my waist. she nuzzles her head in my neck and I walk her over to my car with a firm grasp on her, I slowly let her sink into the passenger seat and as I’m about to let go, a whimper escapes her lips and she clutches the collar of my jacket and struggles to pull me closer.
“London,” I breath and she shakes her head refusing to let me go. I kiss her hair and pry her hands off of me, watching her break down again as I close the door behind her. I hurry to my side and slide into the vehicle. I immediately reach for London and pull her against my side, my arms around her shoulders. Her head falls on my chest and after a few minutes pass by I release a sigh of relief and finally start the engine, starting the way back to mine.
