1. The Death of a Hero
The burning raft floated across the lake, slicing it's way through the undisturbed, glassy surface, the tongues of fire reflected in the perfect blue of the water.
"The man who we are sending to rest today was a great man, a protector of the universe, who never let an innocent race die without putting up a fight", the screams of children were audible, even though we had travelled many miles to escape the carnage.
Gathered around the speaker, a girl of no more than 16 dressed in black, whose eyes told the story of loss too often seen nowadays, was a tight semicircle of 12 men, varying in dress and face so much that it was hard to see what linked them, but I knew only to well.
