When I Fell

Falling in love is tricky. There are so many movies and books that make it seem so easy and passionate and right but in the real word it's confusing and exciting and fun and frustrating and in the real world, things get in the way.

59. LIX

We talk it through with my mom the next morning and she agrees that it's a good idea so that night, I am lying with Chris in his bed in his room and we're watching Dance Moms.

His parents were so nice and welcoming when we asked them if I could stay for a while. They both told me that they were glad that Chris would actually be talking to somebody while he was at home rather than being all moody in his bedroom. His mom tells me she's happy to have another female in the house. His dad tells me he's surprised Chris has a girlfriend at all and that he always thought he was gay.

"Dad, I've had girlfriends before!" Chris said to this, mortified.

"I thought they were just cover ups." his dad waved it up.

And now Chris and I are relaxing in his room, watching TV and I feel so relaxed. He's lounging on the bed, laying sideways, his legs propped up on the side. I'm lying facing the TV, my head on his stomach. However much of a boy obsessed girl this makes me sound like, I can feel his muscles through his shirt and I glance up at him and have such a moment of appreciating how attractive he is. I obviously love Chris for his personality and all that, but god is he good looking.

He notices me staring and smiles an unsure smile.

"Have I got something on my face?" he asks.

I laugh. "No."

He laughs too, taking both of my hands. "Come here."

I scoot up and he wraps both arms around me, smiling at me but looking at my lips. ''I love you, Ruby."

I giggle, kissing him. "I love you too."

"I'm sorry my parents won't let us sleep in the same room." he says, playing with my hands.

"Nah, it's fine." I say. "They're so cool to let me stay here."

"It's not a problem." he says, warmly.

I kiss him again, slowly before pulling away and leaning my forehead on his. "I'm going to bed."

"No." he groans but he lets me go, smiling at me. "Night, Rubes."

"Night." I call quietly as I walk into the guest room.

I check my phone. Still no sign of Jonas.
