Math was my first class, I usually did really well in school. The work took my mind off of losing J even if it was just for a second. But math had the opposite effect, instead of pulling my mind away from J it made me think if him more. The way he would help me when I struggled, which was often.
The room was across the hall from my locker, convenient. I thought about skipping class, but knew that would just seem like I'm screaming for attention.
The most annoying buzzing sound rung through the school, I covered my ears in attempt to relieve the ache that was beginning in my head.
The buzzing ended after what seemed like minutes but was probably more like thirty seconds.
My newly attained headache grew to twice its original size as I entered the math room.
Paper and pencils flew around the room. While people shouted. I ducked seconds before having my eye become a skewer.
Students sat on desks and stood on chairs. A group of boys in the venter of the room were in a full on fist fight, while surrounding students laughed and cheered.
The teacher sat at his desk in the front of the room silently reading the newspaper. "Excuse me, I'm the new student is there an organized seating plan, or can I sit wherever?" I snapped
He glanced up from his paper briefly and raised his eyebrows at me in an "I don't give a fuck" kind of way.
I found an empty seat at the back of the room. The bottom was covered in gum, while the top had carved words, names and inappropriate images on it. I saw math formulas written in the corner, below I saw "C.H. + L.J 4-fucking-never!"
Someone tapped my shoulder, my green eyes met dark brown ones.
For the first time in two years my heart skipped a beat.
"You're in my seat."
"I'm sorry, how much did you pay for it?" I said staying put.
The corners of his lips quirked up, I could clearly see a fresh cut on his top lip. "I'm Calum, what's your name?"
