7. J's Box
I watched Calum drive away from the window.
The house was still full of boxes stacked taller than me. I grabbed a box low enough that I could reach and opened it without reading the label.
My breathing stopped. It was J's box. The one packed two years ago, vowed never to be opened.
The contents were just old shirts and hoodies. With a few pictures. Everything belonged to J. J's parents through everything J owned in their house out. These are the last remaining item that J owned.A few minutes later when my tears were starting to slow, there was a knock at the door.
I wiped my face with my sleeves, and went to the door. On the other side stood Calum with a smile and happy brown eyes.
I stood there for a second just looking through the peephole, deciding if I should open the door or not.
Finally decided, I took a deep breath and turned the handle.
