"Were you eavesdropping?" I snapped.
"Yup." he said popping the p. "Why were you running like that?"
"Why do you care?" I questioned.
"You intrigue me." he paused looking me up and down. "And, anyone running at that pace has to be really fucking messed up."
"Wow. thanks for the encouragement! I so want to tell you all my deepest darkest secrets." My voice reached a higher pitch with each syllable.I rolled my eyes. "Goodbye Calum!" I went to my locker and put everything away, grabbing my bag jacket and all the homework I would need for tonight.
I was halfway to the sidewalk when someone grabbed my arm. I was jerked around to face the culprit, my body collided with Calum.
"I don't know the rules in your country but you can't just walk off like that." he reprimanded.
"Oh lay off already. I was dismissed for the day, the nurse thought it best that I don't push myself today, or as she put it 'you don move, you don think you don run. or I'll find you and give you enough medication that you'll be out for a week.' So I'm headed home. But thanks for your concern Cal.
"Do you really think you should be walking home in your condition?"
"My condition?" I shouted "Forgetting everything for one minute is not bad! I'm not paralyzed! That is what you would call a condition. Not forgetting that your boyfriend drove over a bridge into a river! And you were the only survivor!" tears poured down my face. "Fuck you Calum!"
"I'm so sorry Rysk, I didn't realize." he wrapped his arms around me. His scent was oddly comforting. he put his face in my hair and kept whispering "I'm so sorry Rysk." Over and over again.
When my tears finally stopped he pulled away, I felt cold.
"Come on. Ill drive you home." He stroked my cheek. His touch sent sparks through my body.
