It was almost 1:30 when Calum left, which meant I had skipped yet another day at my new school. Not that the teachers would really notice or even care.
I tried unpacking but my mind kept wandering off thinking about something. Or rather someone. I kept getting distracted by the thought of his eyes, his coconut scent and his arms wrapped around me while I cried into his shoulder.
For once I struggled to ignore happy thoughts, instead of sad ones that just made me angry. Instead of thoughts that made me hurt myself.
I found the box that had my precious stereo wrapped in bubble wrap and a couple throw blankets just to be safe.
I'd found my CDs earlier and jumped up in excitement as I popped a random CD in and blasted it hoping that just maybe it would it would drown out the thoughts running through my head that refused to leave.
As it turns out, it worked. It was loud enough that I could barely think about where simple things go, like utensils and plates. I shook my head sadly as I turned my music down so I could think about stuff like that.
Just as I was starting to actually be productive there was an insistent knock at the door
I sighed turning the music down a little more so I might be able to talk if I had to.
I opened the door without checking the peephole.
A tall brunette with a high pony tail and black rimmed glasses covering her shining blue eyes stood at my door with a stack of textbooks.
"Can I help you?" I asked the girl.
She smiled showing a dimple in her left cheek "Rysk?" I nodded "I'm Elizabeth. Mr. Sumey asked that I drop off your textbooks and homework."
"It's Friday." I stated she blinked unmoving. "The weekend, therefore there shouldn't be homework."
She frowned "What does the weekend have to do with anything? Especially since you missed two days of school?"
I shook my head "never mind. I opened the door wider, would you like to come in?"
She nodded, "I can help you with your homework if you'd like." Elizabeth stepped in looking around.
"I should be good." I led her to the kitchen where there were at least barstools to sit on.
"How are you finding the adjustment?" She sat on a stool straightening her skirt.
"The cars and roads are...intimidating. But other then that everything's been fine." My mind subconsciously traveled to Calum "Want anything to drink?" I opened the empty fridge, "I can offer you water. In a paper cup."
She smiled "You haven't finished unpacking?"
"Haven't gone shopping yet either."
"Are you avoiding the driving part?" She grinned.
So she did have a sense of humor.... I shook my head "I just hate shopping."
"You don't like much do you?" Elizabeth chuckled.
"Nope." I said popping the P.
So pathetic chapter but an update nonetheless and a new character.... What do you think about Elizabeth?
