Halo: The Missing Spartans.

A squad of the UNSC sub-section called the UNPD are called into duty to Arcadia, a Human paradise colony, and the planet is only %20 explored. They will find and lose many, but will they lose the most important part of them... themselves. They then get orders to track down and bring back a missing team of Spartans, and bring them home or put them down. Whatever it takes so they do not end up in Covenant hands. Will they find these Spartans? Or will they find something much worse lurking in the darkness that will strike at the heart of Humanity? I do not own Halo! All credit for the beloved games series goes to Bungie (original creators) and 343 Industries (now owners). This is all from my imagination, except for references to the Halo games. I am not making profit off of this story, which was created for the sole purpose of entertaining fans of the series and fans of the lore. Please enjoy :)

9. Chapter 8: Breaching!

I pressed a few more buttons and I finally got the sequence right, because the shield generated in an approximate four-foot radius from where I was standing. The only downside to these shields, is it lasts twelve seconds, but in this case it saved our lives. It gave Axel enough time to load the launcher quickly and aim so he didn't blow a hole in the ship, and as soon as the bubble popped, he fired. The rocket slid out of the barrel and streaked to the Hunters, and as soon as the first one hit the Hunter on the right, making it explode with orange chunks, he let off the other one, and it did the same. The explosions were loud enough on an open battlefield, but it was a million times amplified in this hallway and we took a minute to make sure our ears still worked. After that, we followed the hallway and met no trouble. Until we hit the bridge.

As soon as we rounded the corner, plasma started flying in our direction. "Down!" I yelled, and we all rolled to some form of cover. "Axel, grenade! I'll prepare the shield!" I yelled to Axel. He nodded, grabbed two grenades from his belt, primes them, and threw them one at a time. Gabbi peeked from the base of the wall and fire into the Covenant mob in front of the Bridge door, which they had fortified with plasma cannons and shields, and not to mention about three squads of both Grunts and Elites. I pressed the same sequence again, and the shield came out with a 'swoosh' again and we started walking forward as I set off two more, so we had enough time to dismiss the enemies, because unlike the Spartan armor abilities, ours we can shoot out off. We surrounded the shields and fired until our clips ran out, and by then the Elites behind them had been shredded and riddled with bullets. "Okay, here's the order, Gabbi, and Axel on the right. Paul and I on the left. Axel, you got those door busters?" Johnny said. Axel nodded and opened his pack, taking out five door charges, and placed one in each corner, and on in the middle of the door. We all stacked up in our spots, and then Johnny nodded. Axel pressed the button, and it was like a bomb exploded next to me. Because it did. The door charges exploded, sending a shockwave through the ship, and blowing the door forward. We rushed in and killed everything we saw, except one thing. The Prophet of Mercy, who was holding a plasma pistol, was already dead. He had killed himself, rather than be captured and interrogated by ONI, or the Office of Naval Intelligence. And I don't blame him. This people are not right. "Okay. Cole said to just head to the Hangar. Katie is also waiting, and she's bored 'cause there's no more Grunts to tease and chase around. Let's go." Johnny said. We all just turned, and jogged out towards the Hangar.
