Pinned to the cork board is a missing poster. With my face on it. The guys crowd around me, and read it.
"Missing: Erika Joan"
My eyes scan the page.
Missing: Erika Joan
A 16 year old girl
Height: around 5'4"
Recently died hair black, may be seen with a tall boy with black and green hair.
I start shaking, both in anger and panic. Michael engulfs me in a hug.
"On second thought, let's go home." He breathes and we run to Luke's house, as it is closest. Even though Sydney is warm all hours of the day, I feel incredibly cold.
When we finally make an appearance on Luke's front steps, the door flies open, and Liz pulls Luke inside. We run in after him, and She slams the door shut behind us.
"Where were you? And what is this?!" She yells, holding up a missing poster, with my face on it.
"W-we were at the Alley." Luke splutters, wincing. I sigh.
"Please don't call my mum. I can't go back!" I plead, feeling Michael gently touch the back of his hand to my thigh.
"Do you have somewhere to go?" Liz asks, and I nod. She exhales.
"Okay, fine. I'll drive you guys home."
"I'll drive Erika to my house for the night." Michael says, and pulls on his jacket. I smile, and walk outside with him.
On the drive home, Michael leans his head back to touch my forehead .
"So I guess you'll stay with me for a couple days, we'll sneak into your house and grab your stuff, then you can figure out plans with your sister after." He says when we hit a stoplight.
"For being there. Being my best friend, when I needed you."
"I'm not even......Mikey, I'm the one who needed you. You've never needed a shoulder to cry on." I say, almost inaudible due to the engine of his Harley.
He is about to say something, but the light turns green and he continues driving.
