When my eyes open again, all four boys are sitting in front of the couch, talking. Calum notices me staring at him, and smiles.
"Anything to eat?" I yawn and sit up, making them laugh.
"We just ate."
"Are you fucking serious?!" I jump off the couch and onto my feet.
"Yeah.....there's kinda nothing left." Michael winces, knowing I'm about two seconds from blowing up.
"W-we'll make you something though." Luke stutters, and they all stand and run up the stairs behind me. I sigh, and start looking around. It's not much, just a basement with a window, couch, and some electronics on a carpeted floor. I move up the steps quietly, so that I can snoop unnoticed.
However, when I step into the kitchen, Michael turns around, smiling.
"We made waffles." He says, and I yawn again. I sit down at the table, and start eating, while the others sit around me.
"So where are we, anyway?" I ask as I finish the last mouthful. Luke answers. Or at least tries to. As soon as he opens his mouth, a middle-aged lady walks into the room, and smiles wide.
"Hello, boys! Is that Erika Joan?" She smiles, and Luke nods.
"Hi mum. Yeah it is."
"How do you know me?" I blurt out, confused. Luke's mum is Liz Hemmings, a school math teacher. But I never took her classes, because I have always found math too easy. So easy, that even though I got put in advanced math, I've finished all of my math for the rest of school. I only do the other subjects, and just have free periods.
"How could I not? I knew your father you know. And knowing your attitude, I'm guessing you'd rather not talk about him." Liz says, while taking my dishes and washing them. "Make yourself at home, dear. If you have a question ask Luke. I'll be leaving for work in about five minutes." She continues, then leaves the room. Luke frowns, then smiles at me.
"What are we gonna do today?" Calum asks, but I stop him.
"How did I get here?" I ask, realizing that I have no memory of coming to Luke's house.
"Oh. Uh....you fell asleep and Mum wanted me home, so Michael drove you here and we walked." Luke explains, and shrugs. Michael smiles.
"Let's go to the Alley!" He exclaims, making the others grin, and tilt my head to the side.
"The Alley. It's a pub. You don't have a fake ID, but they don't care much what your age is as long as you look over 18." He tells me, then touches my thigh from under the table. I nod, chewing my lip.
"What if I don't look old enough?"
"You'll be fine, Erika." Calum rolls his eyes. I sigh, making Michael smile wider, and stand up.
"Let's go!" He reluctantly waits for us all to leave the table, and runs out the door. Luke leads the way, and Michael slows down so that he's walking beside me, at the back of the group.
"Are you excited?" He asks, clutching my hand.
"For the Alley? I mean yeah, but I haven't had alcohol before and I'm not sure wh-"
"Sshhh." After a quick look around to make sure nobody was watching, Michael shuts me up with a quick kiss, and I continue to walk silently at his side.
After hanging around the park until the sun touched the horizon, we arrive at the Alley. The guys are right; the bouncer at the front just grunts at me as we walk past, and nobody questions my age. Inside, a band is rocking out on stage, and drunk people are jumping on the dance floor.
I head to an empty table on the side, followed by Michael and Calum. Luke and Ashton disappear into the crowd. When I sit down, a dark haired guy hands me a beer. He smiles, and runs his hand through his hair. He slips his number into my fingers, and steps away. I stare at it for a moment, before Calum rips it out of my hand. tears the strip of paper in two, and tosses it behind him. I catch Michael giving him a thankful smile. The band stops playing abruptly, and Luke and Ashton walk onstage. Some guy with a spiky black mass on his head yells,
"Hey! I'm here to introduce a new band playing tonight. They're called 5 Seconds Of Summer. They're gonna play some songs for us, provided their other two band-mates show up." Just then, Michael and Calum stand up, and run to the stage. I follow until I have a decent view of the stage, and they set up their instruments.
"Okay, so we're gonna start with some cover songs, then some of our own." Michael says into the microphone, and starts playing.
For the rest of the time I'm there, I dance, drink illegally, and....well, vomit every hour or so. Despite coming here in the middle of the day, it was very crowded when we walked in. Around supper, the crowd slowly thins out, but by 7, I'm being crushed again by drunk and sweaty bodies. The guys eventually get off stage when another band shows up, and they approach me, smiling.
"Can we get something to eat? Every time I eat the bar food I throw up." I complain, so we start to walk around, in search of a Maccas. But, when we walk past a public bulletin board on the side of a building, my throat tightens, and my blood runs cold.
***Sorry it's so late. I'm working on a new fic, and I'm thinking of starting a scheduled update day. Maybe at least every Saturday or Sunday. Love you all, :-)***
