In Accordance To The Prophecy (Part 2)
Mama let me go and told me to tell her everything that happened since that awful day. I told her everything.
“Oh my Baby Storm,” Mama looked as if she was about to break down again, but she composed herself. “I always knew you would be the best there was in this world. You and your sister. I am so sorry that I could not guide you in this cruel world.”
“It’s alright Mama. I know there was nothing you could do to protect yourself against Principal Thorn.” I thought back to that awful day. “That day, you said that we were going to the doctors, where exactly were you going to take us?” She sighed.
“I was going to take you girls here, to Camp Half— Blood. Your father, Zeus, wanted you to know at a young age exactly who and what you were. I told him I would bring you to the place where I grew up.” She gave a content sigh.
“I’m just happy you’re here Mama. But the question is, how did you get here?”
“Well, my mother, Nemesis, persuaded Hades to bring my soul back. She made me her apprentice, and I eventually found my way back to camp. I heard from Dionysus that you girls made your way to the camp. He then ranted about how I shouldn’t have named my girls with boy names.” She laughed. Then she gave me a serious look.
“You haven’t told them your real name have you?”
I sighed. “No, I haven’t. Do you think I should?”
“It all depends. When I was a young girl, she was a very much loved goddess, which is why I named you after her, but nowadays, she is a very hated goddess.”
“But why name me after her?”
“She was a very respected goddess when you were born. She was very caring to me, and she was like a mother when Nemesis had no time for me.”
“I guess that makes sense.” I heard the conch shell blow in the distance. “Well, I better leave now. I’ll visit you again soon. Love you Mama.”
“Love you too Baby Storm.” She hugged me and I left to go down to the pavilion. Several people came up to me and hugged me. I was confused at first, but gradually accepted them. Dean was the one to come barreling at me with incredible speed though.
“Oh my Zeus, Hunter! Don’t you ever scare me like that again!”
“I get that you missed me and all Dean, but you do realize that I sometimes need— to— breath.” She had her arms around my neck and was squeezing way too hard for my liking. She laughed.
“Do anything like this again, and I will kill you myself.” She whispered in my ear. I didn’t know wether she was just joking, or if she was serious. I gave a nervous chuckle.
“Don’t worry about me anymore Little D.” I ruffled her hair and she slapped my hand away.
After dinner, we all headed to the bonfire. A girl with crazy red hair and paint splotched clothes sat on a stool next to the Apollo kids. She seemed to be discussing something with them. We sang our designated camp fire songs.
“Attention campers! Settle down now. Our Oracle Rachel has seen something last night in a dream. Tell the camp everything Miss Dare.” She sat on the stool. Everyone waited anxiously. I was just about to ask Jason what was happening when green smoke started to come from Rachel.
“The child of the Fire… Set out to seek the Liar. The children of the Diamond… Set out to seek the Blinded. The children of the Sky… Set out to seek the Spy. The children of the Sea… Will either be the destruction or the key. And the children of Creation… Set out, despite their Addiction.
“The children of these Gods… Must set out to seek the Fraud. They must first seek help from the Grey One… As well as the ones from the Sun. The children of Beauty… Have an important Duty. Will they Prosper, or will they Reign? Who will be the one to Bane? “The forbidden Children… Will be the bewildered. As they set out to seek who they are Inside… As they Glide. Will we be trampled? Or will we Sampled? The dead ones come back to Life… The ones alive will be cut by life’s Knife.
Once Rachel was don reciting her thingy or whatever that was… A poem maybe? Anyway, once she was done she fell down, but before she hit the ground, the Apollo boys she was talking to earlier swooped down and caught her. They pulled her up and sat her down on a chair.
“What the heak just happened?” Dean asked, quite loudly, might I add. A lot of people looked over at us.
“Rachel is the Oracle. She recites prophecy’s and stuff like that.” Jason explained. She nodded.
“Is that girl gonna be alright? She doesn’t look to good.”
“Oh yeah she’ll be fine. Happens on a regularly basis.” He looked ahead. “I’ll be right back. Gotta talk to Annabeth about that new prophecy. See you guys back at the cabin.” And with that he ran up to where Annabeth, Percy, Piper, and the rest of the gang were.
I sighed and stood up.
“Where are you going?” Dean had a look of curiosity on her face. “I’m going to the woods. Or maybe the docks. Which ever I get to first I guess. I can’t stand it, everybody’s anxious.” She nodded in agreement.
“I understand. Honestly, you could cut the tension with a knife. See ya back at the cabin then Hunt.” I smiled at her and walked off.
I eventually found myself walking into the woods. I heard the stream and went into the opposite direction. I finally found myself in the clearing where I spoke to Nico Di Angelo two days ago. I laughed bitterly. My life was literally stolen from me, and was brought here.
I didn’t really care though. It was like haven for me. I haven’t been attacked in ages.
I tried to decipher the prophecy. The child of the fire? Maybe it’s talking about one of Hephaestus’ kids. Hmm… But then, what about that one part about the liar? I can’t quite get that one.
The children of the Diamond… Set out to seek the Blinded. I think the diamond thing means the children of Hades. I mean, he’s the god of wealth, right? And diamonds are like the number one icon of wealth. But who would be the blind person?
Okay so the next line would be The children of the Sky… Set out to seek the Spy. There are no spies as far as I’ve heard around camp. The children of the sky? It’s probably the easiest line. That one is talking about the children of Zeus, right?
“Are you stalking me?” I didn’t get to the next line because Nico emerged from the darkness of the trees.
“I could ask you the same question Di Angelo. What are you doing here?” He shrugged.
“I come here all the time. What are you doing here?” I smirked.
“I think I’m gonna make this my thinking area. My number one place.” He laughed. I like his laugh.
“And what makes you think this place isn’t already taken?”
“Ah, step aside Di Angelo. I call dibs.” I put my hands on my hips. He laughed again. He had an attractive laugh. He also had an attractive face.
“Woah girl, calm down!”
“Okay then. I guess we can share this area.” He came closer to where I was standing.
“I don’t share.”
“Oh really?” He smirked as he got closer. My heart started to race, but I kept my cool.
“Yeah. I’ve always been the girl who stole the things, and never shared.” “Interesting. You’re a pretty cool girl.” He smiled a genuine smile. My heart stopped pounding and started to flutter.
“Thanks. You’re pretty interesting yourself Di Angelo.” I glanced at his lips. His oh so pale lips. They formed into a smirk. I focused my attention back to his dark and alluring eyes.
“So what do you say?” He looked straight into my eyes. I licked my dry lips.
“I don’t share.” I gave him a small smile and took off. he called after me, and this time, I stopped.
“What do you even mean by that?” He asked.
“It means exactly what it means. I don’t like to share.”
“I can tell that there is another hidden meaning behind that, so what else are you sharing?” I looked him in the eyes.
“Just forget it.”
“I said forget it Nico!” I looked away from him ad started to walk away. Nico grabbed my hand and pulled me closer to him.
“You can trust me.” He stated quietly.
“I don’t trust easily.”
“Good thing I don’t either.” He kissed my cheek. I stood, stunned and rooted to the spot. “Why did you do that?”
“I—I don’t know. Something just came over me and I just did it. I’m sorry, Ah Hades I messed up badly.” He mumbled.
“If you’re going to kiss me, you should do it correctly.” I grabbed him by the collar. He looked startled.
“What do you mean by corre—” I cut him off by pushing my lips against his. He slowly gave into the kiss and pulled me closer by the hips. My grip on his collar loosened and my hands snaked their way into his hair. He licked my bottom lip and I pulled away.
“Sorry.” I said, my eyes wide. I didn’t really plan on him kissing back.
“About what I just did.”
“Why?” He looked sad.
“I shouldn’t have done that.”
“But why shouldn’t you?”
“Because I’ve gotten hurt once by a guy, and I don’t want to be hurt again.”
“But I won’t hurt you.” He had sincerity in his eyes and his voice.
“Do you promise?” “I swear on the river Styx.” Thunder boomed up ahead. I smile at him and he smiled back.
“So now that I’ve made that promise, can I ask you something?” I nodded. He took a deep breath.
“Will you, um, be my, uh, girlfriend?” He sounded scared and hesitant. I smiled and nodded.
His smile was back on his face, and he lifted me up into the air. I squealed. He put me down on the ground.
“Wait, but what about Jamie?”
“Don’t worry about her. She’s long since moved on. She’s dating my half—brother now.”
“She moves pretty fast.”
“She does indeed.”
“We should probably get back.” I nodded and took his hand in mine.
We walked back, hand in hand, to the camp grounds. Everyone left the area where the bonfire was held, and Nico informed me that everyone had left to go back to their cabin. Since mine was the very first one, Nico walked me back to mine.
“Thanks, for everything.” I said shyly. Now, I’m not a very shy person, but around guys, I might as well get a new face and a new name. “No problem. Thanks for accepting, the uh, girlfriend idea I guess. I didn’t think you would actually say yes.” I smiled.
“Of course I would say yes. You’re a pretty cool dude.” He smiled and gave me a peck on the lips. I smiled as a rosy color entered my cheeks.
“Night Di Angelo.” I opened the door and he walked away. I walked through the door and closed it once inside. I sighed content as I walked to my bunk.
I collapsed on the bed, thinking about todays events. I eventually slipped into a dream.
~~~***~~~***~~~***~~~***~~~***~~~***~~~*** “Hello, daughter of Zeus.”
“Hello Zelphine. Nice to see you again. I wasn’t attacked, was I?”
“No my dear. Every demigod has strange vision like dream, and you are no different than your peers.”
“A vision huh?”
“Yes dear. I came to warn you of that prophecy. You will be apart of it. You and everyone from your cabin. Children of the Sky.”
“How do you know so much about this certain prophecy?”
“I created the prophecy. My sister isn’t the only one who can make prophecies.” She chuckled.
“So why don’t you just tell me how the prophecy goes?” “I cannot do that my dear. I am very sorry. But, prophecies are riddles, and they must be sorted out in the best way they can.”
“Hush now dear. Everything will unfold eventually. Now, if I recall, you have a war to win. Goodnight, Hunter Storm, daughter of Zeus.” The green smoke curled around me and everything turned black once again.
