End Up Here

Oh the irony... I vowed to myself that no matter what, I was not going to fall in love with a band member. I was merely the opening act, but I swore that nothing more.

It seems to me that fate decided differently...

2. Top 5

My alarm clock blasted to the radio and I grunted as I moved my arm around the night table trying to shut it down. I was in no mood to wake up today, as yesterday my brother decided that it was going to be amazing to have a party yesterday night... He claimed that it was a 'Thanks For Participating' party for me, as it has been five days and I had heard nothing from the contest.

I sighed and sat up on the bed rubbing my eyes. What annoying thing should I do today? School was going to be over in two weeks, meaning that we had all this week to 'study' for our finals, but yeah, who the hell is going to study? Me? Nah! I pass, I learn new songs on the piano, or simply play video games with my twin brother all day long.

"Andreu!" I heard my father shout. "Come down right now!"

I grunted and climbed out of bed and made my way down to the living room. My father was at the door with an envelope on his hand. "What?" I questioned. "What's that?"

"Yours." He replied and handed it to me. "Your brother left for the beach, so you are staying home alone." I nodded. "No parties."

"I swear." I rolled my eyes. "See you for dinner!" I waved at him and closed the front door.

I walked over to the couch and threw myself there turning the tv on and ripping my letter open. I frowned as I saw the logo of Capitol Records. I opened the letter and gasped as I read the first couple of words.

Dear Miss Andreu Francois:
We have the honour in letting you know that you have been chosen to be part of the top 5 singers in the competition. We would please like for you to meet with us for an interview and a small performance of one OWN song and a cover from the band.

Would you please call--

I threw the letter to the side and ran up to my bedroom to grab my phone and call my dad and my brother in a conference, they had to know about this. This was the most epic thing that had ever happened to our family.

"YOU WON'T BELIEVE WHAT THE LETTER I GOT HIS MORNING WAS ABOUT!" I shouted to the phone as they answered.

"Jesus Andreu!" My brother laughed. "You are leaving me deaf."

"Calm down and tell us kid." My father chuckled.

"The letter was from Capitol Records." I spoke. "I'M IN THE TOP FIVE OF THE COMPETITION!"
