8. The Song Of Truth
I stood up from the piano and stared at Matt. I had just finished singing the newest song that I wrote last night, when I was locked out of my house. Matt seemed happy, but I couldn't tell for sure, the song was a pretty different from what I've written before, it was the story of my mother leaving me alone.
"Where did you get the inspiration for this?" Matt questioned as he took a sip from his coffee.
"I don't know." I lied. "I was watching a movie." I added with a small smile. "Guess I'm a sucker for little kids." I giggled at the end.
"I like it a lot Andreu." Matt smiled and stood up. "If you don't want to tell me the real reason behind the inspiration, you don't have, but just don't lie to me okay." I nodded. "Go back home and start packing we are leaving next week, and I'm going to need for you to come here tomorrow so that we can record this song."
"I'll be here tomorrow at eight." I smiled and picked up my bag. "I need to buy a suitcase." I laughed and walked out of the room.
I walked out of the building and headed back home, I had to verify first if we had a suitcase, if not I had to head back to the mall and buy one. I was surprised when Matt figured out that it was lie, but then again the lie had nothing to do with the song... This was the very first time that I ever wrote about that day, how horrible it had been.
I entered my house and my brother was thrown on the couch with Luke. I frowned and closed the door loud enough so that could acknowledge my presence. They both turned around, and Pierre walked out. I frowned when he walked past me, but I didn't have time to question what the hell was going on.
"Luke?" I finally spoke. "What are you doing here?"
"I want to ask you something Andreu." Luke stood up and walked over to me. "I want to know what song did you presented Matt today."
I blinked twice, how on earth did he know about it? "Luke, what the hell are you talking about?"
"The song of truth Andreu." Luke said. "I heard you playing the piano, and then heard you talking with Matt, but nothing more, what is the song about?"
"I can't tell you." I whispered and closed my eyes. "Please don't make me tell you."
Luke nodded and brought me into a hug. I didn't want to explain why I wrote that song, it was too painful to even remember, but I needed to get it out of my head. I pulled out of the hug and took out the lyric sheet before handing it to Luke. He stared at me in surprise but I nodded, Pierre was right, I had to speak with someone, and I think that Luke is the right person.
You said you'd always be there
But you're nowhere to be found
I can't believe you left me
I feel so low beneath the ground
There's nothing I can do now
I trusted you with all my heart
But now you're gone
You're the one who tore my life apart
I've learned not to trust
There's nothing more to say
You've lost someone special
You can't get back each day
Now you're the one left in the dark
And all of a sudden you feel my pain
You expect me to take you back
But you still feel you're not to blame
I could never forgive you
Even if I tried
You can never make up
For the lonely nights I've cried
You will never know the feeling
Of losing the person you need the most
To laugh and cry and love you
Instead of making you feel like a ghost
I've moved on with my life
Without you by my side
My pain has kept so long
I'm telling you how I feel inside
In a way I want to thank you
Because of you I'm strong
I just wanted you to know
I didn't turn out wrong
