7. Aftermath

10:42 p.m.

Ashley pulled me out the main door of the building and down the block. He finally let go of my wrist and ran his hands through his hair. A lump formed in my throat and I didn't know what to say.

"A-Ash," I managed.

He turned towards me and I could see that his eyes were glazy from forming tears.

"You caused this..." My mind said.

My lump got bigger and I looked away.

"Why?" He asked.

My eyes shot back up to his.

"I wanted you to come because I believe in us. Now, just because we're in a different country, you fall all over my friend?!"

My eyes got wide and I shook my head.

"Why then?"

"I feel like you're hiding something from me!" I said.

"So you grind on CC to find yhe answer?!"

"Ash! I wasn't grinding on him!"

It was a lame excuse.

He came real close to me and grabbed my face; forcing me to look at him

"Then. Why. Did. You. Do It." He said.

"I-I'm scared, okay?! That's why!" I yelled trying to pull away from him.

He took a step back.

"Scared?" He repeated.

I looked at my feet.

"Of what?" Ashley asked.

"I'm not used to people caring about me." I said.

"What about Echo?"

"That's not what I meant... forget it."

He came back over to me.

"I don't want to."

I looked into his eyes and completely broke. The lump came back and I nearly started crying right then.

"Kat... Baby, I care about you. I want to know how you feel and if some things wrong." He explained.

I peered back up at him.

"Okay?" He asked.

I nodded and he held me close. I just didn't know how to explain myself. I couldnt explain anything to him without worrying about how I would say it or how he would react.

"Come on," he said.

Ashley entwined my hand in his and led me to the hotel.

October 1st

9:28 a.m.

I woke up to the smell of french toast and fresh fruit. I peeked out of one of my eyes and watched a shirtless Ashley pack clothes into his suitcase. I sat up and he noticed my movement.

He hopped on the bed and crawled over to me. He kissed me softly and moved over so he was sitting next to me.

"Did you sleep okay?" He asked.

I stroked his outlaw tattoo and nodded.

I still felt a little guilty and upset from last night, but I didn't feel like I would know where to start when he started asking questions. Our relationship, at least so far, was extremely complicated.

"So," he said.

I looked up at him and he laughed. He shifted his eyes to where my hand was.

"Since we have a couple days off, I was gonna ask you,"

He looked back at my face and bit the edge of his lip. My eyes widened slightly when I got what he was trying to hint at.

"Y-Yeah," I said.

Ashley hadn't 'taught' me anything yet because our schedule had been so busy so far.

"I guess so," I laughed.

"Okay," He said, "so tonight?"

I nodded. It felt awkward talking about it, but I was excited at the same time.

Ashely kissed my forehead and pulled me over to eat breakfast. I nibbled at my toast and rolled around my blueberries with my fork. I couldn't exactly think straight with my head spinning; thinking about my first 'lesson' tonight.

"I hate calling it that." I thought.

I wanted to find a better way to phrase it because we were in a relationship, and he wasn't just teaching me. Its like we were going to slowly learn about each other and how we connect.

"Date night." I said.

Ashley's head popped up at my sudden comment.

"Huh?" He asked.

"Date night," I repeated, "can we call it date night? It feels weird calling it, like, a lesson,"

He laughed, "Yeah, date night sounds better."

8:32 p.m.

I was intently watching a new episode of one of my favorite t.v. series when Ashley burst through the door. I perked up at his entrance.

"Oh! Hey," I said turning the t.v. on mute.

He ripped off his coat and came over. He kissed my forehead and took a deep sigh.

"I always forget how cold it is here." He said, pulling the comforter closer.

"It is fairly chilly." I agreed.

I bit my lip. I had been anticipating Ashley coming back to the hotel since he left. To be honest, I've been wondering what would happen since he brought it up this morning.

He smirked and kissed me on the mouth this time.

"I missed you," he whispered.

He moved around and straddled me. Ashley immediately pulled off his shirt and ran his hands through my hair.

"Me too," I replied.

I ran my hands down his shirtless torso and frenched him hard. He came back with a thigh grip. I swear that was my weakness; I melted into his body and he pushed me down.

He slipped his hands under my shirt and slid it off my body. He kissed me harder as he looped his fingers through my belt loops. I placed my hands over his as he ripped off my jeans. My stomach tightened as he placed his hands on my bare legs.

We flipped over and he looked up at me for a second. I smiled for a second and then returned to his warm skin.

Ashley kissed me softly and laid me next to him. He sat up, slipped his jeans off and rolled over, towards my face. He propped his head up with a hand and smirked at me.

"Foreplay." He said simply.

I wrinkled my eyebrows and propped myself up the same way.

"It's a simple concept but it can make or break the sex." He said.

I nodded but giggled, "Okay,"

"A good dinner, a few laughs, rain is a plus, a steamy hotel make out session and then,"

"The big bang." I finished.

"Clever, but yeah."

"Foreplay." I repeated.
