"Have you packed everything you need?" Mum asked me. She's been hassling me about my suitcase for hours.
"Yes mum. I have my entire bedroom in there." I replied sarcastically.
"Cut the attitude Soph. Go get in the car. I'll be there in a minute." she told me.
I dragged my suitcase outside and lifted it into the car boot. I sat in the passenger seat and plugged my earphones in. My playlist consisted of Beyonce, 5 Seconds of Summer and The 1975 songs. I've never really had a wide variety of favourite music. I turned up the volume and took my kindle out of my bag. I gasped when I saw Anna had updated After 3 and almost dropped my kindle to the floor. I wonder what amazing words she's written in this chapter! A tap on my shoulder brought me out of my book and I looked up to see my mum standing next to me.
"Get in the back young lady." she told me.
"Mum! I'm old enough to sit in the front!" I groaned.
"Are you old enough to drink?" she asked.
I looked at her confused. "No..."
"Then get in the back." I sighed and climbed round the seat into the back.
I managed to focus back on my story and listen to my whole playlist twice before we stopped for a rest. I hopped out of the car and followed my mum into the gas station to use the bathroom.
"Right. I'll grab some food and meet you back in the car." Mum told me.
"Okay dokay, cheese and maccaroni." I laughed.
"Don't be a weirdo Soph." she replied.
"Weird is better than normal mum!" I shouted as I made my way into the rest room.
The cubicle could have been cleaner and I didn't really want to touch the seat, so I put down some toilet paper before I sat on it. Afterwards, I washed my hands and bought a slushi and some Oreo's. I do love my Oreo's.
"Thanks!" I cheerfully said to the guy behind the counter and ran back to the car.
"You better be able to hold it until we get there now, because we aren't stopping." Mum said as I sat down and slammed the door shut.
"I will. I'll probably just go to sleep for a few hours." I replied.
"A few hours? We're nearly there now hunny."
"Oh yeah... you never actually told me where we are going." I reminded her.
"Yes I did Soph. Remember? I said we were going to a friend's funeral." I don't remember her saying anything about a funeral?
"Where though?" I asked.
"Ireland. You know, Niall's grandmother." I let out a huge gasp.
"Niall? Niall Horan?" I asked again with a shocked look.
"Yeah. His grandmother passed away about two days ago and her funeral is on Friday."
I couldn't believe what I was hearing. I feel bad about her passing away but... I have to see Niall again. After all these years. It's been so long, what am I suppose to say?
This isn't going to go well.
